G3/Ak47 are the standard issue rifles. They are soon to be replaced by the iranian made Khaybar KH-2002, and Iran has got the license from HK to make their own G36 variant.

If USA wants to mess with Iran, they'd better think twice, 7.62 has more stopping power than 5.56 on the ground... hahaha. I dont think the tactic of "Hey lets use 5.56 to quickly use up their medics" will work when all of their soldiers using 5.56 guns are dead...

You see it is arguable, one can kill the other with a 7.62x51 behind a reasonably thick brick wall but not with a 5.56x45, well according to common sense.
