The problem with these new paintball markers is that they're extremely unreliable compared to the tried and true marker designs, and most places won't allow .43 cal paintball, since their insurance only covers for .50 cal. So it makes that point moot right out of the gate.

To be honest, and I believe Crunch and a few others have already told you this, generally in airsoft, starting out as a "sniper" is usually not a good idea. Its already been mentioned that fields would feel somewhat uneasy having a beginner sniper running around. If you do some research on airsoft, and get involved in the forum discussions, you'll get a better idea of exactly how much work/time/ and not to mention cash, it takes to make an effective sniper platform. I wish I had Tokyo's links, but im sure you can find them on the forums somewhere. In that post is all the information you need as a begginner player, including tips and advice on choosing your first AEG. If im not mistaken, I believe there is also a "Why you should not start as a sniper" link aswell. Trust me, it really helps.

Getting age verified ASAP and buying an AEG from classifieds really.
Wish you could fax/scan legal documents but i inherently see the problem with falsifying that and also I suppose that isn't safe for anyone to be giving that out :S |

Had a great time at the convention, even if I barely spoke to anyone or you know interacted, took me quite a bit to just take in all of the stuff that was going on at the convention, blew me away.
I followed your advice and got myself a gr16 G&G m4 from the fellows at velocity arms and (i believe, but I'm not going to go out on a limb there) some CADPAT. Still trying to figure out the intricacies of it- mostly having a hell of a time with the dust cover and getting to adjust my hop up... I was getting comfortable with it in the forest that backs up onto my property last night and i found that the bbs weren't always feeding properly after a couple of hours... could this be the battery in -degree weather? It was feeding just fine from my low cap mags before in the cold. (Speaking of which, what is the actual way to load a low cap magazine? Do i push in bb by bb? I feel like that's what I should be doing but can't help but think there's a more ingenious method of doing it As well how should I go about painting the clear bottom part? I don't really feel the need to but i figure it would be a fun experience to do. I got age verified at this event so hopefully that gets processed soon... the next thing I'd like to do is get some sort of chest rig if possible and purchase some more low cap magazines (I have 2 right now). my G&G miss feeds everynow and then in the cold. get some silicone oil(stuff that doesn't have petrolium distillants in it) and put a couple drops down the mag. Should clear things up.

 .As far as a vest/chest rig goes, if i have a cadpat shirt and pants should i be getting a cadpat vest, or is anything generically woodland ok? (Not trying to win a beauty competition here, just general practicality)

Anything green based (olive, woodland, cadpat etc.) really, or black. Black goes with everything.
Also to paint get some primer, and spray paint. Rough up the surface a bit so the paint sticks better, prime it, wait and put on a few (2-3) light coats of the black paint. DO NOT put one heavy coat. In my experience one heavy coat tends to strip and flake off fairly easily. Also make sure that no one is around if you're testing out in the backyard, doing this stuff in the basement (or a long hallway, or garage) is recommended just so you don't have ERT coming to your door. I prefer chestrigs more but you don't "really" need genuine stuff do you? It's not like you're going to war, you're pretty much just flinging pieces of plastic at other grown men. Anyways, check out some of the china clone gear that's kicking around there's lots of options, CIRAS, RAV, Tacvest, etc.

Yea i live in the burbs so there's some nice ravines to hide and test range in... not a big fan of being a jackass carrying an m4 around town
.I've been looking at the classifieds I really just want any sort of chest rig don't really care, but it would be nice to have some sort of matching camo if i ever end up playing milsim.
