The mechbox upgrades has been installed after a couple of hours. Thanks again to harleyb for giving the link to Arnies. I've replaced and re-routed the battery wires to run right into the AN/PEQ-2 battery case holder. We don't have to see the battery connectors in the stock and I'm using a 9.6V 1700mAh battery. There's enough room to hide the connectors in the battery box.
I went to our local sporting good shop to pick up some Butler Creek flip-open scope covers and a Harris Ultralight bipod to finish the look. It's definately a very front heavy gun. More than any of my Armalites or MGs. I can pick any of those guns up by the pistol grip but it's a struggle to do that with the EBR. Not sure if I want to take you up on that dare, Vond. I've already suggested to Raven to stick with a normal RAS when he gets a M14.

Take this gun to a game you’ll be the star attraction in any field.
The weight and the cost of this baby keeps me from getting one ASAP…too bad. Have to settle for a King Arms RAS kit for my M-14. |

She's finally finish. After 3 tries with different springs, I'm getting a reading of 420-25 fps/0.20g with a Systema M120S spring. The Prometheus MS110 got me a reading of 350 fps/0.20g and a Systema M130 had a wopping 480 fps/0.20g.
She now has a King Arms quick detach bipod rail adapter installed. I had no luck finding a rear scope mount rail and had to do some machining at work to make a new one. The King Arms EBR doesn't come with one, so beware about mounting a scope if you don't have one or know someone that you can beg one off. Her sister next to her. Ready to back her up in any game. With some of her DMR friends. She's a big girl!

Looks fantastic!
The only thing keeping me from doing something similar is the front heavy balance... I love it but find the standard M14 bad enough. Amazing rifle though, coudos to Bruce once again! Sweet SPR btw |

I've held the real deal - its heavy as hell and realistically needs a sling of some sort. I found it also felt sort of odd - old meets new (ie: an M1 Garand gets dressed up and used in a SCI-FI flick). I prefer the synthetic rifle style stock in a SOCOM II/16 shortie version and actually built a real one (I'm licensed). Best part is its non-restricted and I can hunt with it, and its a nail driver.
I've not met an M14 I did not like. Bruce - how much does it weigh? Are you going to sling it? Is it safely slingable (ie: risk of M16 style barrel wobble or other consequences). You're definitely the cats ass with that at the next game. I bow down before you, especially looking at the upgrades... |

It's 15.5 lbs with everything on her. Somewhat heavy for an AEG but when you consider that the gun is balance at the foreward handguard, it's gets real tiring shouldering the gun in a high or low position.
I have an Eagle 3-point sling that I'm using with the EBR. After yesterday's game, I'm going to try my Specter Gear 3 point M-249 sling on her. With the shoulder pad on the sling, it will be more comfortable to carry the EBR through the entire day. The sling points on the EBR are located on the aluminum stock which is stiff enough for me to not worry about stressing out the barrel. Just foreward of the handguard is a block that secures the barrel to the stock. The receiver is locked down in the normal manner with the trigger guard assembly in the down position. The barrel and receiver do not come in contact with the sling. It is very safe to sling the EBR without damaging the barrel.

the gun is crazy heavy, but it feels so comfortable. I was able to hold it yesterday at the pqac game and there is no way I could game with a gun that heavy, unless i had a stationary posotion al day. nice gun Bruce.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging posts. Glad you like her as much as I do. The next thing planned for the EBR is to tune her groupings with a longer inner barrel and aftermarket hop packing.
