i had a problem with my outer barrel, but it locked up totally differently, and it was caused by some bending while i replaced the inner barrel, so i couldnt tell you whats causing it without either REALLY detailed pictures of everything, or actually seeing the gun

If its litterally only a few hours old, contacting the retailer is probably a good idea. Although you DID paint it which would probably void any kind of warranty, most of reputable retailers are good guys who would probably be willing to help you out.

No CO2 ever my friend, even though it comes with a CO2 mag you might think it was made to use it but I caution against it. The sheer power is shredding the parts up.

Some may want the stronger kick but thats also means a stronger shredder.

When and if you do get it fixed stick with propane. If you want a stronger kick get a stronger spring set for it

What mag are you using that allows you to shoot CO2?

Do a shot to replicate the locking issue. Once it's locked, remove the magazine, clear your finger from the trigger, and push against the muzzle of the BARREL in towards the slide.

Does it cause the slide to rack forward the moment the barrel moves back?

If so, you just found the cause of your problem, and is a common problem with some of these metal components. It's caused by the outer barrel not being pulled back far enough during the slide blowing back, and as a result, the slide catches on the top of the chamber as the slide rides back forward. It causes a two-position lock, that essentially wedges the barrel between the slide and the frame, and the only way to clear it without causing more damage is by pushing the barrel back.

If you force the slide forward, you actually end up causing MORE damage to the slide. I'm betting the lugs on the inside of your slide are all damaged and rounded out now, if this was in fact the cause of your problem. The more you do that, the worse this problem will get.

There isn't any real fix to the problem, except replacing the barrel and/or slide, or if your barrel can be separated in to two components (outer barrel & chamber unit), then you can install a spring assist system to rear-load the assembly to help it clear the lugs in the slide.

It was just poorly built. Not much you can do about that. It's what happens with cheaper components.

If pushing the barrel back DOESN'T release the slide, then there's a different problem at play, but given the current position of your locked slide, the barrel double-wedge problem is the most likely cause.

It`s definitely because of the CO2.
Basically you need to get new internals (Reinforced piston, etc.) or a new gun..

Illusion your right, its the barrel, when its stuck i twist and move the barrel a couple of times and it releases. I learned my lesson its NO MORE CO2, the gun was actually a co2 package came with a co2 mag(iknow... y not propane, i just dont like the idea of propane in my room) I did buy a green gas mag lookinf in the future, i just wanted 1 co2 mag for room practice.

The messed up logo is because i got overexcited and played with the gun w/o giving it enough time to dry. "common... first gbb ever".

Lol yeah its layered on, painted it myself looked super good till i got all touchie feelie with it lol.

Good news though is that, retailer is giving me a new gun, but im sending back the clear plastic.
also bought a green gas tank to experiment with. will buy the adapter, silicone oil and propane, maybe next week.

It's probably not a great idea to give advice if you're not sure of what the problem is.

His problem has nothing to do with the piston.

@ Richand:
Okay, so at least the problem is narrowed down. At this point, you'll have to look in to changing either the barrel, the slide, or both.
Sometimes, when the setup is causing the slide to cycle too fast, it basically over runs the barrel setup, especially if the lugs have been sheared off from excess wear. CO2 would have been the most likely cause of this.

Well, since the retailer was so nice as to send me a new gun im going to replace the whole upper parts, so im just keeping the painted part. Messed up paint logo and all lol.

Looking at the parts though, i can see a couple of scratches, i do want to know if the gun can still operate with green gas, well see soon enough.

sounds like the retailer is steppin up big time as you did take the gun apart and painted it so they did not need to do this. who was it by the way 8/10 times we hear about retailers it is only when they make a mistake.

lol no names from me pls, I think the retailer would have wanted to know that the co2 can do this and save him some guns.

Its not a mistake(and non of you said it was) too, i just bought a gun that broke itself with its own stock parts.
I think they didn't know that the gun self destructs either.

I cant really blame anyone for this.
