plastic flexes causing air leaks and ultimately will crack and become worthless. go with metal unless you're on a budget and or don't use that particular gun much.

I'm using the KA one piece metal M4 hopup unit and it's working great. (for plastic receivers you need to mod it and remove some material to make it fit.

Google search and a cruise through my known AS stores only produced this:

http://ebaybanned.com/product_info.p...oducts_id=2110

Did CYMA do a good job on this unit?

Airsoftparts.ca doesnt stock any metal AK hopups it appears

I NOW have a metal 74 reciever so that is not an obstacle...nor am I trying to save a buck.

For M4s, I have experience with MANY MANY hop up units. If you can name a brand, I've probably used it.

For one-piece set up, Prometheus Perfect NEO is the best(With the Strike Chamber set). They are THE single MOST consistant hop up unit for M4 builds.

For two-piece set up, stock TM hop up with Laylax Strike Chamber will give you incredible consistancy.

As for AKs, I've seen nothing perform better than King Arms hop up units.

Once upon a time I worked on a G&P SPR and upgraded it to the max for fps (150 spring), and found the stock metal G&P nozzle caused issues with the new (don't remember the brand, but was a dual O-ring tapered nozzle to replace the metal G&P square end nozzle) and it caused lower fps (leakage) and other problems. Replaced the hop up unit with a different metal one, issues went away.

My point being, sometimes hop up units of one brand and nozzles of another brand/style cause problems, are mismatched. Cheaper would be for you to buy a new nozzle and see what happens in the hop up unit you have, then report back and discuss more.

And whatever you buy for hop up rubber, don't buy the Madbull blue rubber ones, I have yet to install one that didn't have misshapen breech area causing very low and wild fps. And I'm talking about a half dozen sets of the brand/type. Without firing a single shot after I assembled the gun, I'd shine a light in the magwell while looking down the barrel from the muzzle, lots of light at various positions came through the hop up rubber/nozzle mesh. This is with the nozzle in the guaranteed fullmost forward position FYI.
