I think most people will agree that of all the Chinese clones, JG / Echo 1 are the best brand with the best consistency. You can't expect perfection for any low-cost Chinese product, and there will be lemons. But generally speaking, JG tend to be the top of the heap when it comes to Chinese AEGs.
And people whose only experience with JG was a couple of years ago will more than likely bash them, because it's only in the last 2 years or so that they've seriously stepped up their quality. Like I said, there are still some defects here and there, but they're getting fewer and far between compared to other Chinese brands. Correct. That's no JG and shouldn't be compared to one. The Well G2 is a pretty shitty gun all around, as is anything by Well.

I wouldn't say JG's are as good as TM's. Some JG guns still, occaisonally, fail in some way or another after within a few thousand rounds.

You could say the same of TM's. Once in a while you get a gun that fails quickly. Just ask Crunch

And that's completely true of some brand new TMs as well. My first "real" AEG was a brand new TM M4A1. I was originally going to get a JG at ½ the price, and was convinced by others here on ASC to get a TM instead, as it wouldn't give me problems... Had the motor die within about 200 rounds. Got a new motor, and had the gears snack on themselves within a few hundred rounds. Got new gears, and put a couple of thousand rounds before the mechbox snapped. Needless to say, I regret not getting the JG instead. Even if I'd had problems, they wouldn't have cost me anywhere NEAR as much for the gun and repairs.
