As far as polishing goes, keep upping the grit of the sandpaper, 1000 grit, 1200 grit, 1500 grit, 1800 grit, 2000 grit... until you think it's shiny enough. For tinting it? I would suggest a painter's inks or dyes of that type... like you would use on a Warhammer model I guess. I don't know how that will hold up over time, but it will get you the look you want.

have you tryed brasso and silvo for those 1911 metal grips , it might work really well. and that gun your all trying to figure out , its a para ord 14.45 , used to have one love the look.
