Hate to say it, but he's somewhat right- they have a devastating psychological effect if you don't know what they are, if something comes hurdling through the door and there's a possibility of some sort of grenade (example, Tornado) you're going to duck and cover, or get the fuck away from it- effectively making it a distraction device. It's been used before, successfully.

Haha, cheers- I've unfortunately been on the receiving end of that a few times. It's great when you know there's guys around corners and whatnot, I've employed it successfully a few times- but one fairly shameful example of getting duped is someone throwing a small wood cylinder through the window I was firing out of.

it's true, a few weeks back at FR Alex found an old smoke grenade and actually used it to get a kill from people ducking.

As promised, the 3 DD's that Frog made for me were based off of the GB Tech gas charger (seen in the middle).

do they have any kind of use or just esthetic?

Here's mine...

Like I said, I put a small explosive charge (fireworks) inside the metal piping and the only thing I have yet to resolve is to find an EFFECTIVE way to detonate it. weight about a solide pounds pounds and half.

I need to remember this for my first game...

I know Pyro stuff is usually not allowed at a game unless noted other-wise, but would something like this be against any, type of rule? Moral or other-wise.

the split second of distraction can be very useful, that said it's a pretty cheap method =)

You could make yourself a fuse with some matches.

Take the matches' head, grind them.
Take some rolling paper(?) and make a little tube filled with matches' head.
Fit the actual fuse tread of your device in it.
add 2-3 paper matches around the "fuse", with the head facing the opposite way of the explosive.
Take the scratching pads of the box. Fold over the "fuse".
Add some ring/handle to it. Hold in place with a rubber band. Needs to be very tight.

When you pull on it, the external matches light, igniting the "fuse" and the tread at the same time. Voila! No need to carry a lighter around.

But then you're carrying an armed, volatile explosive with you..

Safest way would be to carry a simple click jet-lighter, light then toss...
