I had this problem as well but it was because of shimming have u checked that? The piston would move back then stop right before it'd fire then get stuck, I had to reshim for that
If u have time check on www.mechbox.com for a V2 mechbox take down and try to open it and figure out whats wrong if u have the time or bring it to a gun doc

Because mine is doing that and I'm suspecting thats the cause of the binding
Yes, is normal.

And, it does sound like your mechbox is in dire need of shimming. Any chance one of those lost shims fell into the mechbox and jammed it up?

I checked everywhere for inside the mechbox and I think I shimmed it correctly. I wish it were as simple as a lost shim in a bad place but its not. It seems very odd and I think the right side of my mechbox is a bit bent now am I supposed to be able to put the mechbox flat without pressure? and there would be no gaps. Because I found the only way to eliminate the gaps is to screw in all the screws.

How did it bend? It should fit together without any gaps without screws, but sounds like something is in the way or not installed properly.

I stripped everything out and tried to close it but its still bending outwards towards me i have reason to believe I have the ability to bend something I couldn't imigine being able to bend...

Exactly how bent is it? If it's part of the flat, what you could do it lie the half on a flat wooden surface, take a hammer and peice of wood, and gently tamp if flat again. Must use the wood in order to coax the mechbox into shape without breaking it (the wood will absorbsome of the impact force, reducing what the mechbox receives.

I'd say it bends about 2mms starting from the back of the trigger. Thanks for the wood and hammer tip I'll give that a try before ordering a new MB from airsoftparts haha

Ok so now i can close it nice and flat but it seems like my bottom bevel gear bushing is incrediably loose. The pinion is shot to shit. Looks like those are the two things keeping my mechbox from working. Also the insane amounts of pinion shavings haha

If the bushing is loose, grab a steel scribe (something metal that has a point on it) and a hammer. Lay that part of your mechbox on something flat, and gently hammer a divot about 1mm or a bit less around the bushing hole, at 12, 3, 6 and 9 O'Clock. Point is that the metal will spread into the hole a slight bit making the bushing fit tighter.

Ironically I just searched the bushing problem and your solution came up here and one time you described it to someone else too!!!

Thanks I'll grab the nearest pointy object!

Charge your battery man..

Just kidding dude. Good luck

I am the V2 mechbox master!
Don't worry about ever breaking a mechbox cause you can always get it tig welded.

I went to the boat to play tonight and the game was cancelled. Man was I pissed. For those who don't know here in Mission BC we have a decommissioned BC ferry that we play on. It is wicked.

LOL i believe its the stripped pinion. I got one coming to me through the post today. Hopefully that will solve all my V2 woes. LOL Not to mention I bought a replacement mechbox off Jugglez. I'm considering this MB my learning mechbox.
