Yeah, if you're on a budget, go on ebay or something. Glock is the most popular make out there, you should have no trouble finding a used 6004 for a G17 for $100 or less.

I've been looking at this getting one myself, comes in a lot of variances too:
http://www.opsgear.com/collections/h...iant=863061113 Not sure if this fits into your budget and it doesn't have the single belt strap like the one in the image, but you did say you're not looking for a $200+ one :P |

Ya, Ebay definitely has some better prices, my only worry would be accidentally buying a repro that is being pawned-off as the real deal.

Case example:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Safariland-60...item2a470b807b The manufacturer's website has this listed for $200, but this guy's got it for $65... |

So what? Cheap doesn't mean it's fake. It's a hint, but you also have to see where it's shipped from (US? Canada? Hong Kong?), what's the seller's feedback, what's the wording used (is it Safariland 6004 or Safariland 6004 style?), etc.

One more thing.
What's the deal with holsters and lights? I don't have a light yet, but will get one eventually. Will the Safariland or blackhawk models fitted for lights lock the gun even if no light is attached? |

Regular versions of molded holsters such as the Safariland ALS/SLS or Blackhawk SERPA holsters will not accommodate a light. If you want to holster with the light still attached, you'll need to get the light bearing version of those holsters made for your specific light and pistol combo.
Because of where SERPA holsters lock on to the pistol, they cannot be made to accept off brand pistol lights. The only light that is compatible with a SERPA holster is the Blackhawk Xiphos. Last edited by Kozzie; April 19th, 2015 at 16:26.. |

Right, so looking at this Safariland holster:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Safariland-63...item43dac7fffa If I don't have an M3 light, can I still holster the pistol? |

the xiphos is discontinued I believe and you would need the specific model serpa for the xiphos, I don't think having the pistol without the light would work in the holster.
If you have a metal framed/slide gun you could get a kydex holster made for your exact gun if none of the parts are made with plastic, otherwise most airsoft plastics don't like the forming temperatures of kydex, and will distort or deform if you put them in a press with hot kydex. You can heatgun the kydex and form it by hand if you're patient, but doing it that way results in ugly kydex work imo.

G-code SOC holsters are modular in the sense that you can swap the lower to accommodate your gun with or without lights
They're awesome holsters too with quick detach platforms (RTI system) And the airsoft G17 fits like a glove in their g17 holster (I got the XST for my g18) But the SOC is more expensive and I think you'll be back in the 200$ range for the holster and Rti wheel I think (the XST, if you don't care about the light, will run you around 80-100$ for the holster and Rti-wheel, but that's in US) |

Yes you can, I have one for a p226 and it locks without the light. When you look at the bottom of the holster where the muzzle would be, you will see a allen/hex screw. That secures a plastic block that has a plastic rod that will go into the muzzle when a gun is holster. That keeps the gun from falling out and aids in keeping the gun in place for the 2 types of retention that the 6304 has. For the 6304, there are 2 methods of retention, the ALS and SLS. The SLS is the hood that goes over the hammer (back of slide for the glock) and then the ALS that locks onto the ejection port cut out on the slide. The nice thing about the safariland holster is that it will accept a variety of lights like a surefire or streamlight. Here is a video from safariland that shows the gun will lock in without the light, it doesn't explain why but at least you can see it: https://youtu.be/mSKpASx3LqU Last edited by ditmeus; April 19th, 2015 at 18:52.. To be fair, mine is a 6004. It absolutely will not retain the gun with the light missing. Your can't tighten the adjusters enough.

After going through the holster finder on safarilands website I'm fairly confident a holster with ALS will lock a pistol regardless if a light is attached or not.
