I think he meant, where did you get the word "pistol" from "patrol"?

I have a CADPAT patrol cap (yes, patrol and not pistol ) I ordered from Wheelers before I found out that Jeroon carried them.

Army Issue Surplus Plus has a variety of patrol caps, just PM him or visit his store. He sells OD, Woodland, CADPAT, black, and beige patrol caps I believe.

A couple of company's make thier hats to mil specs so realy the only way to tell is to check the tags.
Aside from the fact that most commercial company's will have thier name on a tag the issue ones will have a DSA # on them with 2 of the numbers being the date of issue ie. (DSA-604-98-6984-5086) or something along those lines.

Emailed Dave's. They said they carry R&B brand (said it was issue company). Blackhawk, is this the one?
They're quite a bit more than the Propper ones (R&B ones for $15), so I'm wondering if the quality difference is worth the price.

Could be a NSN# I'd have to go digging through boxes of gear to check mine but either way it'll have a gov. issue # where commercial hats will just have the size n company tag with w/e else they put on there.

Daves sells the issue ones. I've seen patrol caps sell for $18+, $15 is a good price.
