the problem is nobody sells a v6 tappet spring. I have a couple springs from fastenal, one is too stiff, one is too soft.
tappet spring already stretched to test. no joy.

Ummm the cobwebs in my brain remind me someone on here was selling a P90 all parted out, I presume 1 or 2 crucial parts were toast... maybe a couple weeks back? Do some searching cuz I remember lots of pieces up for sale, maybe luck will win out, can't remember who it was that was selling it off though

someone else's used spring is more than likely not to be any better than my used spring.

Maybe, but I've owned 2 P90s and they ran for years without having this issue, so I don't think it's a given. Best of luck though!

I just had a thought. So it seems that when full, your mid caps are exerting too much spring pressure to ensure reliable feeding. So that is not going to be affected by the tappet spring as that only pushes the BB into the chamber. It sounds more like the increased spring pressure from the fully loaded mag is causing the nozzle to snag slightly causing misfeeds. So what if you used one of those SHS selector spacers to pull the tappet plate back just a bit farther rearward. That should pull the nozzle back far enough to ensure more reliable feeding.

I just finished taking apart my gearbox, and did some tinkering around with some of the suggestions people have made in the thread. Problem is still persistent, however I am getting a consistent +1/-1 fps difference now @lurkingknight, if you want a new tappet plate spring what if you bought a V7 spring set as seen here: http://www.airsoftstore.ca/index.php...products_id=68 Then just cut it down to you liking |

I did exactly that. I picked up a v7 spring kit the springs are not the same diameter or compression rate.
the g&g m14 uses a spring similar to the p90 tappet spring, it might be a bit longer, but again, nobody sells that either. mag pressure is a theory several people have brought up. However it can't be the sole cause of the problem because the exact same mags worked fine before, fully loaded for 2 years. A sector delayer has been installed since the gun was built.

I'd find a different nozzle that has a bit less wobble. Lonex nozzles tend to wobble quite a bit on Lonex cylinder heads in my experience. One batch of SHS cylinder heads had a slightly larger bore on the nozzle, and resulted in very little wobble with a Lonex nozzle.

So I smashed up my APS v2 gearbox from way back after failing to weld it, and realized that it used a v6 look-a-like spring. If the dimensions are the same in the picture as your spring, give me a message and I can probably sell it to you for a few bucks; albeit I'm not age verified, I'm still waiting on it so if it's a match and you don't mind waiting, it's all up to you.
