ICS M4 Mag Release

My screw on my mag release recently was stripped off and half of the screw is in the mag release and it's stuck in the mag release so I don't think I can get a new screw on it.

Can I only buy ICS mag release to replace my broken one or can I use aftermarket mag releases?

But ICS are not TM compatible. They do require alot of proprietary parts that are not the same as standard parts.

I just realize how hard it is to find an ICS Mag catch or just a cheap regular mag catch

Any mag catch should work on an ICS. I have a TM catch on my ICS M4 and it works without issue.

The hell are you talking about?

You can replace it with ANY mag release you want.
I have used KA, TM, CA and G&P on my ICS... it works.

The ONLY parts that are not compatible:

SOME buffer tubes.
SOME delta nuts.
Anti-reversal latch.
Mechbox SHELL.
Metal Bodies.

I have a JG/TM/CA/ICS hybrid that is based off a JG mechbox... has an ICS front-end, TM body, CA internals and JG stock.

As long as the mag catch is 1:1 scale then it should be fine.

I was under the impression that none of the controls were compatible. I guess thats what happens when people like me speak up without first hand knowledge and spread misinformation. I retract my post above and do apologize.

Kos-Mos is right on the money there. Other than what he mentioned, the rest as compatible as any other Armalite AEG would be in terms of internals and externals. Some aftermarket parts fit great, some others may take slight modication, but that's the case with many guns and aftermarket parts, not just ICS.

My ICS is a home-built job from a used receiver that I got here on ASC, and I build it up from there. It has a DBoys CQB front end (tight fit, it fit), a Magpul MOE grip (needed light grinding with a dremel to fit), and a G&P crane stock (one of the non-compatible ones lol). Shoots straight and far, and the hopup is excellent. It's way more stable than any other AR hopup. Very happy with this gun.
