New user requires starting information on first purchase
Well... Im new here and I want to get a good gun. Im new to airsoft, became a big fan after shooting my 325 fps pistol that i got for my birthday. but it broke after 2 weeks. Anyway, to get my second-third weapon, since where i live (dawson creek, BC) there isnt any good guns, im planning to get this set (only good set i can afford)http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...Swat%2BKit.jsp . can you guys look at this and tell me if i should get it for pretty much my first gun? even if you say no im going to get it anyway, only thing thats good that i can afford.
P.S. whats a hop-up system? Last edited by AirsoftNewb; January 8th, 2010 at 02:01.. Reason: Need to... |

Go ahead buy it It'll last as long as your pistol
Long lasting guns go for 300$ and upwards Cheaper upgradable guns will bring you around the same price except you can learn from them. Cheap guns will that are not upgradeable cannot be repaired and are thrown away when they brake down. Spoon Feed Airsoft guns with Hopup system gives bbs a upward spin giving them more range than conventional smooth bore bb guns. Last edited by Kingsix; January 8th, 2010 at 02:25.. |

ok, so let me get this straight your asking for our opinion on a gun that we're obviously gonna say no to, and your still gonna go ahead and buy it no matter what we say?
so what was the point of asking us for our opinion? and if your price range is that low, to be honest this isn't the sport for you, as many people will tell you. |

Welcome well 1st you can age verified and you can find plenty of gun in the Classified section.
A hop up system is there to help the bb to fly straight, curve up , curve down.

Most, if not all, of us here will tell you that no you shouldn't get that kit. It's really not worth it and will very likely just break soon after you get it. However, if you're going to get it anyway, no point in asking right? If you're serious about airsoft, stay away from the guns from Canadian Tire and/or Walmart...they're not really worth the money. Airsoft is intended for those that are 18 years of age or older. You'll notice that some people have "Aged Verified" tags under their avatars. This indicates that they have met up with a local age verifier to confirm that they are 18 years of age or older. This gives them access to the classifieds on this forum where there are many many high quality guns for sale. For more information on age verification, please read these threads: linky 1 linky 2 For more information on airsoft and buying your first gun, check these out: linky 1 linky 2 Hop-up is a mechanism in the gun that sticks a piece of rubber into the inner barrel of the gun. As the bb passes through, it comes into contact with the rubber and gives the bb a back-spin. This helps to increase the stability of the bb's flight path to help with range and accuracy. |

The Shotty is pretty good actually, the same cannot be said for the pistol. I've had my crossman shotty for over 6 months without it breaking. Chronies at 300fps with .20 BBs. It's a great close quarters gun.
Add a coat of krylon and it actually looks badass. |
