discharge rate might be too low and then it won't work.
that happened to me with a Raijin battery they sell at UNcompany. basically, smaller cells ( including regular AA-sized cells ) most probably won't be enough. what's the capacity? I would just order on www.cheapbatterypacks.com

ok, the cells in it seem to be same size as one in my frends battery for his aeg

nothing at all written on the battery ? can't you just try and bring it back if it doesn't work?

all it says is 9.6v on battery and to look in manual for more info which i lost, and ive been looking for the MAh ratin online but i cant find

Check the polarity. Small airsoft batteries are opposite of most others.
