GBBR?
Hello. I got age verified three days ago and is currently waiting for my info to be updated on this forum. Since I can't view the AV Retailer section just yet, I was wondering about the availability of GBBRs in Canada.
Should there be a good number available for purchase, which brand is currently best for GBBR? I looked at WE, WA, G&P(probably can't afford these though...), but still don't know which ones are better. Also, on a slightly related note, I am planning to get a new GBB. I have been thinking about WA 1911s for a long time. They are very high quality, but the fact that they shouldn't be used with green gas troubles me. I like the full metal construction of WE GBBs, and I was thinking about the GBB MEU. Any thoughts on those? Thanks a box-full. |

As for the best GBBR system. It is debatable. Tons of people will tell you whatever they have is better, but in the end you have to do the research and decide. GBBRs are very finicky although nothing comes close in terms of realizm.
As for 1911s, going with TM is the wiser choice. WA is indeed very nice for a collector but TM is just as good. For someone in Canada WA parts are very difficult to come by. TM has a lot of aftermarket parts that any quirks you have about the accuracy of realizm of the TM pistols can be easily rectified. WE 1911s are not compatible with TMs and their Metal upgrade parts for the most part. I don't recommend it.

Once you get your AV status you will find that you can get anything you want barring you have enough cash and patience. You just better have ALLOT of both.
You should be looking at about $1000 for a new rifle and a few mags. You can get the AGM GBBRs but from what I hear those aren't the greatest, and the turnover rate is THROUGH the roof with those. Avoid AGM. If this is your first gun I suggest you look at an AEG if your looking to game since it would require a lower start-up cost leaving you more money to spend on other things you will need like mags, batteries, goggles, boots, BDUs, vests, and if you wanna get into upgrades, scopes, and a plethora of other accessories. Besides gas guns aren't really the notorious for being noob friendly, and you won't really be able to game with it in the colder months. |

I guess I like WA GBBs more because their stock package seems better than TMs. I prefer to get a "good" gun right off the bat instead of dealing with higher long term costs by getting something lower quality first and then spending a ton of money upgrading. That being said, I don't mind WE 1911 not compatible with TMs. I just want a good quality out of the box green-gas compatible GBB. Is the solid metal (and consequently, green gas safe) feel of WEs worth giving up WA magna blowback systems?
So far I am really just looking to collect and so am after realism a lot more than gaming practicality. I just plain don't like AEGs and their whiny sounds. |

Thank you, that's all I needed to know about WE. Again, since I don't want to deal with high upgrade costs and hassel and am looking to collect instead of game, heavier and better looking WAs seem more attractive to me than TMs. And another thing about TMs...they didn't really pick up their game until their 1911a1 came out. Since then, there haven't been a lot of good new stuff out anyway (and I'm not a big fan of Glocks). Just so I might regret my decision to sell my current TM 1911a1 and buy a WA, how much am I looking at if I upgraded my TM with metal kits and such? |

I think we have our new hot noob topic, "which gbbr should I get?" it's gonna be like the sniper rifle as a first gun topic with the standard "start off with an AEG" response

Haha yes that could be a nice new noob topic, except I've mentioned I'm thinking about getting a GBBR to collect, not to game. In that sense, I don't need (or I just don't care to) to be taught whatever a good starter AEG can teach me out there in the fields.

If just for collection, why don't go with AGM?

I'm assuming you mean an M4 GBBR? Cause there are a few other models out there as well (i.e. AK, MP7, SCAR, etc...)...and probably a lot more coming out soon.
I like the WE M4. So far the ones I've seen have worked out of the box (but they were all Gen2+). Metal quality is decent...receiver finish wasn't jaw dropping, but I'm not a wall-hanger kind of guy. The WA/Ino/G&P's look great. Reliability out of the box might be iffy...not an issue if it's a wall hanger. I'd bet they run ok on duster for the occasional blasting. TONS of upgrade/replacement part available....because upgrades/replacement parts are needed. AGM's are just fine for wall hanging. I suspect that they'd need a bit of upgrading/tuning if you were to use it regularly. If you want a wall hanger pistol...WA's are really tough to beat. They're really sweet. A TM 1911 base with a full metal kit will run you into the $600 range...if you can find good deals on stuff. With GBBs, you often get an imperfect blend of looks, durability, performance, upgrade potential....there's no pistol out there with it all right out of the box (although so far as 1911's go the TM 1911/MEU is pretty sweet...just that metal kits are $$$). |

You're right if you're talking about their pistols but if he wants a GBBR, so far several members of this site have had nothing but glowing reviews for their WE M4s.

We were talking about the 1911's AND GBBR's. and as far as the 1911 gbb's go WE doesn't come close to a TM or WA. I try to say WETTI if I am talking about their GBBR

Okay thanks Ronan. Any idea how long I will have to wait? Haha....I log on everyday hoping to see the words Private gone, but they're still there...haha. I know it hasn't been that long yet (got AV'd on Monday), but it sure is painful to wait!

Could be any minute now but be prepared to wait about a week or two. If after 3-4 weeks you still have no access then contact an admin and/or post in the Age Verification Issues section.
