EOTech 510
Well, a friend of mine is selling his real steel AR, and I've asked if he would sell me his EOTech 510 (N cell powered, non-NV) from it before he puts it up on the market. His response was "You can have it, it's not working though."
Now, knowing my friend's level of patience and mechanical aptitude this problem could range from the batteries being in backwards to being completely fried. I would ship it back to L3 for warranty claim, but EOTechs are governed under ITAR, and are subject to seizure if caught trying to be shipped out of the continental US. I've heard plenty of horrow stories about items being sent in for repair, claims, etc, and the owners never seeing them again, having been thrown in the hoosegow by the local Postal Inspector. Now, I've cracked upon the gut of clones, and they're not exactly engineering intensive. The real deal might be another case all together. Anyone have any experience with their real EOTechs know of any european or Canadian based warranty centres, or had a chance to work on it themselves?

The 510 was an export-approved model. I would not think you would have a problem with sending it for warranty work in the U.S.
Contact P&D in Edmonton, TSE in Calgary or Wolverine in Manitoba and ask them directly on this issue. I'm sure they will have had to deal with it in the past.
