1911 Springer's got no more zing

I recently acquired this 1911 springer from a friend (he doesn't know anything about airsoft). Anyways, the FPS is really low all of a sudden. So low it won't punch through a layer of cardboard... Other than that, it's in perfect shape and fits my hand perfectly

What are the odds that I can get it fixed? Is it worth it?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the o-ring might be degraded on the piston. Has you friend ever put any petroleum products into it? :P

Try taking it apart carefully and push the piston with your finger on the nozzle and see if there is an airseal.

Ya, I think he used Jig-A-Loo on it (or similar) the muzzle break has solvent marks on the plastic.

I use actual gun lube on it now and my other old .177 guns and they're fine.

I'll check later.
Thanks for the prompt response

Well, it was leaking but because the barrel was not seated properly. Now it pumps them out much better,

Hmm, sure looks like it's been well used. Can't quite figure out how to open it all up because some of the inner parts seem to be factory sealed. Oh well, she works.

Thanks

That's your big mistake right there. Never use real gun lube.
