Electrical issue
I'm not really an electrical guy so I'm not sure if this is normal or not. My AEG stopped firing (absolutly zero trigger response), so I pulled out the mechbox and stuck a multimeter on the wiring to check for connectivity. I get a chime when I go from the negative connector lead (that plugs into the battery) to both the positive and negitive motor poles. I get no chime at all when I use the positive battery lead, regardless of selector setting or trigger position. This doesn't sound right to me. Can anyone shed some light on this?

You will get continuity through the motor via the motor brush/commutator connection via the windings.
You are not getting any continuity through the trigger switch and/or the selector plate. Look there.
