PTW is DEAD in the fracking water, and I think it's going to be sold off very bleedin' soon. This is just ridiculous.

Will NOT fire with any batteries (fully charged batts, ofcourse).

LED still blinks once when put into semi, so there nothing out of the ordinary there...

Fried EL boards, perhaps?

So, I took the upper receiver right off the lower. It fired out of the blue (after 4 trigger pulls with the receivers locked)... WTF is this shit?! Gremlins? Bad luck? A dead grandfather's ghost who managed to get himself stuck in my PTWs wiring?

Holy sheeeittt.

I thought you sold that thing? I'd stick with an AK, if I were you, haha

Other than that, I can't help you, sorry. Maybe McGyver will see this and offer some insight.

Already one step ahead

Siouxsie Sioux is always too eager to fill in for some shortcomings of classier gals.... er, guns.

I just had a round of problems with my PTW after a year of good performance. The motor problem reared it's ugly so it was off to macguyver for a mcguyvering. Works great now.

That cleared that up. prior to that I had wrecked a FET on the power board. a $3 part from digikey and it was fixed. You might have to get in there with a multimeter to see what's going on. If the LED isn't blinking indicating any problems you may have an interesting electrical issue.

At our game on sunday I noticed it made a funny noise and stopped firing. The grub screw on the motor plate had worked its way up to the motor and seized it. removing the screw fixed that as well.

Unfortunately, being a heavy mix of electronics and mechanicals makes this gun a challenge to troubleshoot.

If it's giving you problems, I recommed getting it to a ptw gun doc who knows the quirks and issues.

I think this will be a motor issue. Pm mcguver. He's the top PTW gun doctor that I know in Canada.

Sorry to say kos man, but its threads like these, and many games where PTW's have gone down, that just make me appreciate my V2 custom build even more...

2 years since I built her, and not a single problem since. Sell it and build yourself a nice regular AEG for half the cost.

An abacus is also more reliable than a calculator if you're not that familiar with buttons and how electrical insides work either. lol.

That's a bad anaolgy. An AEG can do almost all (no stopping on an empty mag, full cycles.....that's pretty much it) things that a PTW can do.

How is that a bad analogy? An abacus can do almost all (no logarithmic functions and no fancy graphs.....that's pretty much it) things that a calculator can do.

Kind of like how my feet can do everything (except with the speed) that a car can do. Oh, my feet can't shelter me from weather either. iPod takes care of the tunes. (... alright, i'm starting to stretch for this now. LOL)

Seriously though... my uncle can punch out mixed operation answers on an abacus faster than I can do it with a calculator.

But it doesn't mean he's a better mathemetician. Or a mathemetician at all.

Heehehee.

Exactly. The point is, he can use it well, but he can't do some things that a mathematician reliably can.

Not everybody is "capable" of handling a PTW.

Kind of like how it's probably better that my girlfriend never gets behind the wheel of a car....

Well, I kinda meant it the opposite way. Where having a PTW doesn't make you a better player.

But I digress, the thread is over here-------------------------> |

Kos, have you done anything to this gun since it came back to you? Changed anything, the grip, stock, anything like that?

Pop the motor endplate off, pull off the grip and let's see from there.

And Kos, there was a fellow from BC with a 2008 that had intermittant operation , even after the motor mod. Turns out his motor had a broken winding, and the motor needed to be replaced. You can test this out by spinning the sun gear and see if the gun starts up. Don't try it with the battery connected, or there will be blood, trust me.

Didn't I mod that motor?

Why does this always seem to come up? I know, it's when a PTW dings at guy at 250 feet, and the dead player bitches and moans about a hot gun, cause there's no possible way a 400 fps PTW outranges a 420 fps AEG by several yards or more.

But hey, they don't make you a better player, you can keep telling yourself that if you like.
