How big of a risk?

Hey I see alot of threads about people ordering metal parts for their aeg's from international sites.

Well I know ehobbyasia offers parting the gun and shipping it as several boxes.

How effective would this be in terms of it arriving into canada without one piece being destroyed by customs?

No one here will support this idea. Try at own risk.

(BTW - get them to ship the receiver in a totally different box)

Where can I go for additional information on this subject?

Not very effective, since they would seize the receiver and you would be left with a receiver-less gun.

You can order any metal part for your gun except the receiver for AEGs, or the frame for pistols.

How effective would this be? All the boxes without the receiver should get through, but the box with the receiver probably wont get through.

It doesnt matter whether whether the gun is apart or together, the risk is about the same I would think

I'd agree with both what The Acer and Styrak said.

So yeah, the risk is about the same, the difference is that that way you'd get the whole AEG except the receiver which you could buy in country (it still depends on the model, as it'd be quite hard to buy a SCAR or FAL receiver as opposed to an Armalite or AK).

If you are stuck with a receiver less M4 you WILL be on the watch list and will not get one successfully into country. You will end up spending the CDN retail to buy a replacement metal body for your gun which may or may not fit.

For Every person who brags about beating customs their are dozens of ppl who don't post that they had guns seized. Not like you would want to brag about getting your gun/parts seized.
