Systema M-M-HS Motor Problem w/ SiG 552
Recently bought an M-M-HS motor for my SiG 552. The original EG1000 motor actually does work to cause the gun to fire, it's just the issue that the pin for it to attach to is snapped off.
I've gotten the new M-M-HS motor inside the gun and wired correctly (Red = P Black = N), but when the motor is actually fixed inside like it should be, it can't fire. So we took the plate off the bottom of the handle to see what is going on. When we fire, the motor seems to budge a little. Release the trigger, goes back to standing position. Try to fire again, and it budges, and still, no shot. The rest of the gun is completely stock aside from the inner barrel and metal hop-up, but I wouldn't think either of those would matter as I'm just trying to get it to fire blanks. Anyone have any clue what the problem might be and then how to fix it appropriately? Thanks

I know you said otherwise, but wired in the opposite spots? That would cause it to try to spin in the opposite direction that you want.
Or motor height. |

The height is the same, made sure of that before it was ordered, heh. Even stood it next to my old stock motor, and it's exactly the same aside from the little spring on the top and the color.

it IS the height, lower it. Believe me, all motor have the same height, but your installation is what made it go wrong. You probably screwed it up too tight. If you keep pulling the trigger, you will snap a teeth or two off the bevel gear.

Sklad, Styrak, explanations work better. Just because you type in big letters doesnt mean people will read better.
Roko, you should be able to physically adjust the position of the motor in the pistol grip of your sig. Using a screw driver I believe you turn a screw to either move the motor further into the pistol grip or lower down. The height of the motor is key due to the fact that improper motor gear contact can cause alot of issues and stress on the parts. Attempt your elevation adjustments in quater turns. Alternatively, the motors maybe in backwards. Not saying anything against you, but its a possibility. I myself am not a gun doctor, but hopefully one can jump in and assist if your issues continue to persist.

Putting the motor in backwards won't cause any trouble, it still turns the same direction. There is a little hole in the middle of the bottom of the pistol grip on your SIG, unscrew it slightly, then try again. If that does not work, unscrew it more, and try again. repeat the process until it shoots. |

I can see two phillip's head screws clearly on the bottom little plate, but as for a middle screw, I just see a hole. Inside the hole fits for an allen key, though. Is this the screw you're referring to?

Alright. Half way there.
The gun now fires. But here's the new problem. The plate is lifted. The little allen key adjustment actually didn't do it, but when I loosened the screws on the front and back of the pistol grip, it now fires. Now, there's a gap, about 1mm, between the plate and the actual pistol grip itself. If I push against the bottom plate, the gun now no longer fires. When I release pushing on it, it fires again. Basically, I can't prone. Any suggestions on how to keep it lifted solidly?

So unscrewing the the motor adjustment all the way did not help? Strange. It sounds like something could be mis-aligned, or your new motor is longer than your old one.
Can you get a picture of the two motors side by side? Last edited by milehigh; March 12th, 2009 at 20:38.. |

Here's a picture of the two motors side by side. You'll have to tilt your head, though.

Well its hard to say for sure from that picture, but it looks as if the lower motor's casing is a lot shorter. The best way to check for any variance is to get a set of calipers and measure the length from the lower plate to the top of the pinion gear.
EDIT: I thought your old motor was an eg1000. what do you have in the picture? Last edited by milehigh; March 12th, 2009 at 21:01.. |

Oh yea, it is shorter than the other, but the length of everything on the actual motor plate is longer to compensate for the shortness of the casing itself. Fires, though, and that's what has me smiling until the next problem occurs.

So you're just going to use it with your grip plate loosened off then?
