Well one of the best ways its to get a sorbo pad installed. I heard some people even wrap their mechboxes in some form of insulation but I doubt thats good for the proper function of the mechbox.

Well, you're not going to be able to silence it too much. You can quiet down the piston impact, but the motor and gear sound you can't silence.

As I siad, it will silence the impact noise (the loud "crack"). It won't do anything for the motor or winding sounds.

think of this analogy:

Clap your hands. Now clap your hands with woolen mittens. That is what sorbo does. It reduces the shock which = less stress and better longevity on your mechbox, and it dampens the sound.

AEG motor whine essentially defeats the purpose of muzzle silencing and I've never heard anything good coming from insulating your mechbox. The benefit of sorbo padding your mechbox is really nil in my opinion. Too much risk for not a lot of gain.

On a curious note, the gun that I find is the most quiet is the Tokyo Marui Socom Mk23 NBB. The slide is fixed, so it doesn't move to make sound. The suppressor that comes with it is extremely effective insofar as I have engaged the enemy with it and taken down two of them before they realized they were under fire.

^ Sorbo padding has huge benefits I recommend them in all the guns I work on. I have yet to see a gearbox break that has a sorbo pad inside of it. It reduces the sound quite a bit as well. U cant get away from the Motor whine tho.

You're most likely not going to want to do this because it's expensive as all fuck..

But:

Find an Angel silent piston head (Lol good luck they've been out of production for a
good while)
If you can't find that, Sorbo the cylinder head and use the MASK piston head.
Systema Helical Toque up gears
Marui EG700, then get it comm-lathed to improve the performance and reduce the noise
Get a FET with active breaking

Since you don't have room for something like Dynamat, you can't do that... So throw on a foam-filled silencer that has a decent weight to it (Yes silencers actually do change the noise the gun makes, and it eliminated a majority of the "pop")

I have a mk23 nbb and the things whispers with the silencer. Hard to place too. Something else that might interest u is an actual silencer on the barrel. I had one on my m16, and it changes the exit sound of the bb making the shot harder to place. However, that doesn't change the gear noises etc.
