means you will get hit with a huge bill.
but basically a brokerage company has brokered your package for you and it is currently waiting for clearance to ship from either customs or internally. |

For one, it means that the information about your package has been forwarded to the broker; the broker may not yet be in actual possession of the package. The package is basically cleared with customs by the broker before it physically arrives, in order to expedite its processing.
This is typical for couriers, and as other have mentioned it will result in a huge fee from UPS, in addition to duty, taxes and CBSA handling fees. UPS blows.

I have found that on an average a $100 usd Item will tack on Gst, Pst and $29.00 in UPS handling fees.

Duty is also a possibility, be prepared. Call UPS and find out how much you owe. you can do that as soon as it is released from Customs. UPS for all it's faults has a pretty good tracking system.

Hehe thats UPS anal rape with no lube thing.
You might get lucky and pay nothing or almost nothing, but out of the 5-6 times i had to use UPS, the 5-6 times i was charged almost the full value of the package. It's theft, you can contest it and stuff, but don't expect to see your package anytime soon if you do that. |

Being in st tomas it is probably cheaper for you to rent a po box over on the other side and then just go over, get them, declare them and be faster too.

I just dont like the idea of driving stuff back.or declaring it. airsoft products seem to be an issue with customs. And I have had pretty good luck with u.p.s until now.

A while back I remeber someone telling me that it was possible for you to do your own paper work and broker your own parcel when dealing with UPS. Im not sure how to do so or even if this tid bit of information is true, however for those of you who deal with UPS its worth look into if you deal with UPS alot.
