Battery Problem

Ok I recently got an 8.4V 1100 mAH mini battery for my aeg.

The battery is fully charged, and when I plug it into the gun, the gun does not fire at all. However, when I tested another battery on my gun, my gun fired perfectly. So I know there is something wrong with the mini battery.

Besides sending it back, is there any way that I could fix this problem myself?

Ive got a similar issue as well, essentially new battery. When plugged into gun nothing happens. Unfortunetly unlike yours mine will not charge either, but when tested with a volt meter everything appears to be fine. When plugged into 2 diffrent chargers, neither will recognise that anything is there.

Hopefully someone has some insight for us.

99% sure that the batteries are not wired correctly.

To fix it you would have to break open the pack and test each cell and the connection between them.

Have the same problem. The battery came "slightly" charged. Fired a few rounds, decided to charge it. The charger recognized it, light red, then light green when charged. Now nothing whatsoever. This is my second battery with this problem.

Soo pissed...

Its screwed up because when I got the battery it was completely dead, but it charged alright. However when it was wired to my gun it didn't work. Tried it in my buddy's p90 and it didn't work either.

One thing I did try was using my knife to expand the connectors inside the male plug for the gun. Although this didn't work for me either, this doesn't mean it won't work for some of you. Might as well give that a try.

Well found out what my problem was, wirings fucked somewhere. Sort of a vague description but cant really articulate the issue aside from saying the person who wired it did a shit soldering job.

Well, I'd still like to know why pre-first-charge, the batteries worked, but after plugging them into my "universal smart charger", the don't! I have it set to .9A (the lowest mine will go), and nothing.

I guess I'll have to pick up a multimeter and check it out.

Damnit.

Edit: And, why does it work with my 8.4v Large type no problem, but ruin my 7.2v sticks?

Edit 2: It seems using an old, "stupid" wall charger works. After a few mins the battery had some juice in it and allowed the gun to fire. Of course, at an output of 300mAh, it'll take about 3.5 hours to charge a small 1100mAh battery, but I guess thems the breaks.

Would STILL like to know why a "smart charger" doesn't work, but a "dumb" one does.

Probably because the voltage onf the battery was soo low that the charger detected a bad battery.

Because you know, under 0.9v per cell, a battery pack is consedered irrechargeable, because half the time one of the cells is inverted.

Here is an update of my situation:

I took apart the battery pack and checked each cell. One cell had some small burn marks on it, but it checked out okay on the voltmeter. So I soldered and re-wrapped all the cells. After doing this, I started to see smoke come from inside the battery and the tape started to melt (I didn't have the battery connected to anything!) so I threw it in the recycling. I don't know why it did this since I was careful to place them back together in the right order.

Now I am pissed because I am stuck without a battery for my aeg. Way da go James...way da go! lmao

I have a similar deal with a 8.6v 1400mAh Intellect. It sort of works, but nowhere near as well as the stock battery from a Jing Gong G36, or an old Sanyo from a used MP5.

It will charger and work but it just drops dead after about an hour. The other two will run at least 4x as long.

An important thing to note is the age of the batteries. you may have bought a new pack but the cells could have been sitting on a shelf for 10 years.

maybe you created a short right at the end of the wrapping procedure, that happened to me once.The battery heats up and you either have to unwrap everything ultra-fast or throw it away like a grenade

some cells are such bad quality that you can squish them with two fingers.
I suspect some cells to have built-in short circuits waiting to happen, which would explain problems like yours.
buy good quality custom batteries, you get something wired properly and that doesn't break.

I dont like cheapbatteries.com i've recieved some grey market products from them. I have RC friends who have purchased from onlybatteries.com and I don't see a problem.

One of your cells is probly reversed. best bet is to open the pack and spike each cell individually with some power making sure you have the polaritys right and it should be detected by a charger

The pack already went to smoke... there is nothing left to do.

Personally, I order my packs directly from the distributor. Best quality around, no assle and I can get a new pack in under a week if there was a problem with one.

You defenitely want to avoid "Super Uber DEALZZZ". Usually, they are left over from numerous grade quality control (Say SMC don't want them, then Integy/Top don't want them, then onlybatterypack and such don't want them.... they most of the time end on eBay as "Super Uber DEALZZZ")

A 1400mAh Intellect pack SHOULD be around 30-40$ Under that, it IS lesser grade.
