Modifying battery to fit stock???

Sorry for asking such noob question i realize i may get flame for this. I have an unknown brand wood kit I would like to install on my Tm Ak47. The fitment of the kit seems to be quite good however I can not fit the battery into the stock. It sticks out by about 2-3 cm. The battery i have here is 8.4v 1300mah. 6 cells with 1 on the bottom. Now if i take out the bottom cell i believe i can fit the battery in. I do not know much about how the batteries work, is it possible for me to hack the battery in such way? or perhaps open the wrapping and rearrange it?

If that is not an option can anybody point me a source where i can pick up some new batteries? what config of battery will fit? will any 9.6v battery configuration fit???

If you remove a cell you probably won't have enough voltage to do much.

Have you considered just hacking away at the insides of the stock to make room?

hmm..it might be designed to fit 7.2v

do you have a mini or a large battery? if large, then check out the minis. i have an incredibly small 8.4v 1400mah battery.

I have but I do not have the proper wood working equipment... I believe i'm using large batteries. Can anybody sent me canadian links to where I can get some mini batteries??? Will they have the same kind of connectors. My gun's been upgraded to 450fps and I would like to use a 9.6v to get higher rof, but with this stock is there any hope that i will be able to fit a 9.6v battery?

Okay, I think the first thing that needs to be done is find out why the battery isn't fitting properly.

I would remove the stock (from the gun) and try inserting the battery; looking in from the "gun body" end of the stock, you'll be able to see why the battery doesn't fit. It could be something as simple as the space being 1mm too tight, and you'd be able to fit that with sandpaper and about 15 minutes in front of t he TV.

ok i took some picture of the battery in the stock. It doesn't look like its gonna be a quick fix. I probably i to shave down the whole inside of the stock. O yea and the screw hole on the stock is too small too but i guess that can be a easier fix.

This could be really easily bored out with a drill... I'm sure you know some one that can help you with this.

Best route would be to modify the stock.

Not sure where you are playing mate, but if you have full auto at 450fps i know you can't play here. Just a little word up, good luck with your wood kit.

I do not have any friends that own wood working machinaries so tats gonna be a problem. I do have an electric hand drills though but i have no idea how to go about this, I do not want to fuck the stock up cause i feel overconfident. Can somebody give me some pointer and what kind of drill bits to use?

Last time I have access to a real dyno the gun clocked in at 445fps on semi. I dunno if its the same on full auto. I have never gone to big outdoor games I've only attend private CQB games held in factory and warehouse with a close group of friends and this gun is definately NOT allow in there.

Any drill bit and a hand drill would work. It looks like you've got an action kit which is made out of soft wood.

Put as thick of a drill bit as you can find (that'll fit inside the stock) , and slowly drill 1/8th of an inch down, test fit your battery, then continue taking little bits out as needed. By the looks of it you've got ALOT of room.

Edit: If you remove the cell the battery wont have enough power to turn your 450 FPS spring... so modifying the stock is your only option.

thanks for all the advices guys. I think i'm gonna try drilling the stock tmml. Is there anyways i would be able to find 9.4v battery that would be smaller than the ones i have right now?

Anyways I'll report back once i try drilling the stock. Hope I don't crack it....

Hold your horses. If you plan on gaming that AK of yours in your local airsoft field maybe you need to downgrade it first to 400fps(Semi/full) or 440fps(semi only). You are not allowed to play with a hot gun unless you are just plinking. However if I see you that AK at the field I will be the one doing the chrono for you. I play for Op-for(Vancouver) just to let you know.

No that Ak probably won't be a gaming piece. It gonna be for display, plinking and for me to take apart and tinker/upgrade. I'm gonna find a stock m4 to beat around in. damage are you able to age verifield??? I've been looking msging all the BC representative hoping to get verify but havn't got a single reply. would be great if u can verify me
