Advice Wanted: keeping CIRAS clean

Hey guys, just a question, I know there are a bunch of you guys out there who like me somtimes play at Vic Piantball and other places that share our space with paintballers. I just bought a new Kakhi colored Pantac CIRAS and i am worried about getting it stained when i am rolling arond on paintballs and running up against baricades that are coverd in paint, i want to keep it looking clean (although normal battle stains are ok) and paint free. Any advice/suggestions?

Assuming it's made from real Cordura, detergents shouldn't harm it. Pressure washing works too.

I think it really depends on what type of material is used for your replica. If you are trying to keep the paint off, you should maybe try some kind of waterproofing spray to help repel the paint from the material. Keep a towel or rag on hand so you can wipe the paint off in a short time frame. Sounds like it would help prevent stains...

Great idea! i will try that. As for what it's made of, can anyone confirm; 'pretty sure that the Phantom is made of 1000 Dupont Cordura Nylon just as the real EAGLE ones' true? false? ...anyone?

just wipe it off, if the paint dries it just flakes off of the phantoms; you don't want to look like all your kit is brand new do you?

No i dont' but gos darn it I don't want a bunch of pink and yellow paint on it either. God knows how much we all spend on our kits, i just like to take good care of my stuff.

Try the Nikwax line, they have waterproofing for many different types of fabric including cordura. Works excellent keeps your kit clean and dry. You can get it at lots of places, Ocean River Sports, Robinson's, MEC and Capital Iron carry it.
Also, when did Victoria Paintball start allowing airsoft at their field?

Even though the Phantoms say Cordura, I have a feeling that it is 700 Denier. I have a bunch of real steel gear from companies that include: HSGI, Original SOE, Emdom USA, AND Eagle Industries. My CIRAS replicas (Multicam) are made by Phantom but the material feels pretty different. It is more pliable and looks almost faded from the real deal. While I am not doubting that it is Cordura, I dont think they use 1000D stuff like Eagle.

That aside, Im sure the same cleaning techniques will apply...I used to play paintball and dont ever recall the paint flaking off once soaked into material. I usually had to soak my jerseys in soapy water then rub vigorously with my fingers to get it out.

spray it with pam! it coats it so the paint wont penetrate the fabric. for the most part the paint shouldnt stain, except the pink and green stuff with is terrible.

depends where you play.

the reason we can do this easily after playing at Weekend Warriors id cause they use cheap paintballs... with shitty fill.

If the field has any sort of tournament action, or sell high quality paint with thick fill you will have a harder time getting it out. When I played tournament paintball, we used paint that literally would stain your skin. Instantly.

hell, I had one brand of paint stain my GUN...

Thats not good news at all!!!! will the water proofing prevent that from hapening?
