Q's about my plinking CA M15A4
I have a dedicated airsoft gun and now a backyard target/fun factor weapon that i'm building.
I want to obtain 500fps on my "fun gun" and have hit a snag. Most of my internals are upgraded. I have all guarder reinforced parts and am running with a 9.6v 2200 battery. I still run the stock CA motor and gears. I just got a systema m150 spring in. I installed it in my gearbox along with a metal bearing spring guide. I powered it up and pulled the trigger. I can see the nozzle retract back but then it stops and the gearbox becomes locked. I would assume that the stock gears are under torqued and thats why it's locking half way into the firing cycle. So - will the systema super torque-up gears (flat) solve my problem and have enough bang to cycle the gun properly. I would like hear from someone with a similar setup that can speak from their expertise and not just opinions on "Ya, it should work" Thanks |

Are we talking carbine or riffle? M15A4 refers to pretty much any Armalite in the CA range...

Contact Illusion, he'll give you a shopping list. 500fps plus on a carbine lenght barrel might get complicated though.,

your spring could be under so much tension that it pops off the spring guide not allowing the piston to move completely back thus locking up teh gearbox.
Make sure you have ball bearing spring guide and a ball bearing piston head with a spring that has filed ends to make it flat instead of round.. I have had a buch of gearboxes with this type of problem. gearboxes lock up from lack of torque(espically for a M150(gears/motor insufficient?)), things jamming, loose shims, and parts not put in properly. |

the shimming is perfect. so back to my question - will the systema (flat) super torque up gears solve my problem?
