aeg won't stop firing
I have a G&P m4 and I recently moved the wires from the front to the back, it fired fine for the first 10 shots in single mode when I changed it to full auto it would not stop firing and I had to disconnect the battery to stop firing. Now when I plug the battery in even on safety it fires by itself, (without me depressing the trigger). Does anybody have a solution? Thanks

check to see if u put that little spring back in ontop of the trigger piece, if u left the spring off your trigger piece would get stuck between the 2 contacts and cause your rifle to keep on firing even on safety since the safety only stops you from pulling the trigger

Your wiring may have been shorted to the body of the gun (red wires) and your gun will fire until either the battery dies or the motor quits.
Tear the gun down and check it all with a fine-toothed comb. Even a slight cut in the wiring will do this. Or. it coulf be the trigger return spring as posted above as well. Either way, you're tearing it all down.

I am pretty sure the trigger spring is in the right postion- if it was not the trigger would not work at all (am I correct?) - but I may have to check that. As for the wirring being shorted out - I did a continuity test on the wires to see if they are making a contact anywhere on the body - and they are not.

Nope the trigger would still work just it wouldnt pull back the trigger return piece leaving it somewhere between the trigger and contact points
Or possibly u rewired your gun wrong? |

Yep. Open wire. However, there was one more problem. The switch that closes the circuit, thereby causing the gun to fire, was unable to open. (which would cause the gun to stop firing.) it looks find of like this: - = when the circuit is open. One piece with metal on both sides goes into a slot with metal on either side. The spring that re-opened the circuit when the gun was on semi or safe broke. Well, not the spring excactly. The little piece of plastic the spring hooked onto. So I'm working on that now.

Heh, kinda humorous. First I've heard of a "run-away-gun" in airsoft. I didn't know about the cut in wiring though. This is good to know because I'm planning on re-wiring my MP5.

hmmm....it DID go wonky when I had to hose an entire team...nonetheless, I did repair the problem. I couldn't find a replacement part, as the problem was inside the gearbox and the piece involved seems to be rare, as I'm assuming this problem does not often occur. So what I did was cut a piece off a heavy-duty paper clip, bend it into an "L" shape, and then krazy glue it such that the short end of the "L" rises up and replaces the piece that broke, and the long side provides a larger surface area to glue. I'm re-assembling at the moment, but it all looks pretty good so far.

i assume its the switch your talking about that a piece broke off of?
Someone had that happen to their M249 in manitoba, a runaway gun makes more sense if its an M249 though lol |

Alright, I re-assembled my gun, and the problem was either the open wire or the missing piece. I addressed both problems and my trigger is now fully functional. However, my name is "FNG" for a reason, and I seem to be having trouble getting my gun to shoot. I pull the trigger, and something goes "whirr" on the inside. I don't know if it's my gearbox or the connection between motor and gearbox, but the thing doesn't even dry fire. But that's another issue for another thread. Right now, I think this one is almost "solution" worthy.
