after my socom broke down due to a leaking mag i was really bummed out until i had a friend show me how to fix it. i'm posting this so it will help anyone with a tm socom mag problem.

see that pin that sits a between the other two,,thats the "boss" pin. this needs to be dremeled out in order to to take the mag apart. carefull not to drill to far,,you only need to drill the boss pin so its flush.

this is what you will have after you have drilled successfully. just punch out( lightly) the other two pins that hold the mag together and it will slide out with ease.

when you slide the bottom piece from the mag itself you will notice a small spring and valve will be in your hands from the opposite side you just drilled,,,this simply gets tossed as its not going to be re-used. in the space where that spring and tiny brass valve sit( the source of the leak) you will need to fill in with either epoxy or my fav,,jb weld. let this sit for at least 12-24 hours before re assembling. when it comes time for reassembly you will notice an oring on the valve assembly,,(looks like a square o ring) i removed the o ring,,carefully,,and placed a small amount of silicone in the orings groove, then put the o ring back on and applied a thin layer of silicone around the outside of the o ring. wait for about 5 minutes for the silicone to "skin up" and re assemble the mag. after a few hours your socom mag is ready for use again. periodically you will need to re do the silicone around the o ring but other than that you are good to go.
hope this helps anyone with socom mag leaks.
