Figuring out what version is the Magna blow on my WA

That's right folks, I need some help figuring out what version is the Magna Blow on my newly acquired WA 1911. Here is the GBB I just got :

http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper..._WA%20Handguns

I am guessing it would be a V1 since it's not marked anywhere but I would just like to make sure.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you really got the one on that WGC page, that's a "non-SCW".

It looks exactly the same, the marking on the box is the same and the mags are all 15-rounders so I guess it's this one. If it's a non-SCW version then I bet it's gonna be a bitch to find a metal frame for it.

Haha, not like I can blame you for it but thanks for letting me know. At first I saw another version of that gun which used the V3 but the mags were 21-rounders. Damn you 15 rounds mags !

non-scw and scw ver 1 slides are compatible. SCW ver 1 still operate on on the magna blowback system. Magna blowback system and SCW use the same parts.

Frames, i'm unsure of, but i will assume they are since SCW v.1 slides will operate on my SV frames.

I'm pretty sure you can get a non scw or scw v1 slide and it will work.

If your gun is SCW v2 or v3 then you will have to get specific slides to those.

If you pull the slide back, does the loading nozzle stay in the chamber for a second and then go back with the slide? if so, do you see any springs on top of the nozzle?

if you see any springs there you prolly have an SCW2

another way to check that is to pull the barrel assembly out of the slide. Take the outer barrel off. If you see a spring over the inner barrel between the chamber and the black nub thing at the end of the inner barrel then you have an SCW2 gun.

AFAIK the only SCW3 gun is the new WA 1911s... come with a 22round mag as well.

And FYI, the both 15 round and 22 round mags work in the single stack 1911s despite the versions.

I checked and the loading nozzle travels with the slide at all time. As for the spring I didn't saw it when I took the gun apart. That would mean I would have a SCW-1 or non-SCW gun. I am guessing that since the WGC page didn't mention anything about SCW it would be a non-SCW gun.

So as far as the slide goes I have to get either a V-1 or non-SCW slide for it to work properly ?

i'm fairly certain you have a non-scw/scw1 gun. you can purchase any slide up to and including SCW v.1. They house the same internals.

Sorry to resurrect, but I think I've got one of these. SCW1?
