For those who don't know what he's talking about, he's referring to Clarence Lai's (Airsoft Surgeon) custom created LMG:

yeah, its a nice gun, very heavy, and no cheap plastic.
The mechbox removes in less than 30 seconds allowing an easy upgrade or downgrade. Problem is the mechbox, it goes through gears like mad, id say 2 seconds on the trigger and they are hooped.

What type of gears are you using?
Are they shimmed properly? Is Surgeon the make of the gun?

the gun is getting piston suck and then the gears strip everything is as it was from Clarence except now for the replacment gears..... problem with this gun s there is next to no information about it as the mech box is completely custom built from a Version 3 gearbox to start

Hey Guys: Wow Nice LMG Sorry if I misunderstood, but if the Piston Compresses and then burnsw the gears by stress alone, the only resolve is to create a small hole in the piston head, thereby giving it relief from the return stroke stress. Like I said, Sorry if I misunderstood, but I imagine an AEG like this would get HOT fast....

Oh Yeah P.S. : Dont make a hole unless the Designer actually thinks its a good idea, wouldnt want to destroy a work of art like this

as you can tell, Batman is working on my Gun, he has tried everything under the sun. Unfortunatly there isnt anyone else that I have ever met who ownes one of these badguys, and from what we do hear, they are quite unreliable

Sorry to take so long to get back to ya; Man thats alotta dough to put out ; was thinking about your problem of the Gun burning through the gears, and for the life of me, I cannot seem to figure it out, It seems like a High performance Car engine without oil .

pretty much, if bats cant get the stuff to work properly, im going to go to a factory, and get their opinion of the best metals to mix, and make custom gears. its the best I can do

I don't think it's an issue of materials, but more like the placement of said gears. It could be from an initial engineering flaw in the gearbox itself.
