Maruzen MP5K expelling gas
I just got a used maruzen MP5K gbb in a trade not long ago. I finally got a chance to fill it up and take a few shots with it today but when I pulled the trigger on semi-auto mode, all the gas just shot out of the barrel leaving a very cool spray of gas and the BB flying at incredible speeds (went through two sides of a pop can at 7 meters). I tried again and the same thing happened on full auto.
Now, the guy i made the trade with said the gun was in perfect working order so obviously this shouldn't happen. I'm not sure what the problem is, but if it's small I'll probably just keep the gun and fix it but if it's big I may have to contact the other trader... Anyways, any help would be appreciated. I hear the MP5K supposedly shares the same mechanism as the Maruzen M11a1. So if anyone has had a similar problem with the M11, please throw in your two cents as well. Zi-Xiao

i dont know much on gas guns, but I assume your using propane?
the 1st rule with gas guns is to lube them up. since its a new gun to you, give it a good lubing. sometimes things tend to stick when they get dry. |

I know this can happen if the valve on the mag gets stuck open. Check to see if its sticky, if so give it some silicon.
The piece that strikes the valve could also be getting stuck, unfortunetly I don't know enough about the gun to help you if thats the case. |

I got something similar, except that I have one mag that it doesn't do it with and two it does. I got this gun used off fleebay (eBay) and I though it was a good deal, a lot of fun to play with and it shot fine (modded it for Green Gas and 6.04 barrel). Got 2 50 rd mags, both had the gas expel problem you mentioned.
I don't know the technical terminology of the mags, but the top metal piece of the mag on all three looks identical. I have a friend who is a metal worker who offered to make me new ones since though that might be the issue. I, for grins removed the piece from the working mag and put it on a 50 rd mag and now the 50 works, I put the other one on the standard mag and now it has the expel issue. Good news I have a working 50 rd mag, should be good for small engagements; bad news I spend $100 on paper weights and prop mags. Anyone have any suggestions? |
