Gladius combat light
After seeing this video
YouTube - Strategos International I need a gladius combat light. The strobe fonction and the dimmer is EXACLY what I need both for my job, airsoft and every day use. The price is pretty steep. So If anyone know if someone in canada that carry them, we should start a group order. It's going to be a shame to retire my Surefire E2D. I love this light.

The strobe feature is also a rave-party-on-the-go, think of the possibilities.

Huh, pretty damn cool, even just the video alone.
Some nice techniques that I hadn't even thought of (I've just seen the Syringe/Harries stances)

I've been thinking of picking one up for EMT work. The only thing that is stopping me right now is the number of threads on LF.net that are detailing a number of problems with battery leakage and tail cap problems... some people swear by their lights, but a number are less than impressed... so I'm still up in the air.
However, should a group buy go down, I'd be in. I'm not sure of the quality of the retailer, but LA police gear has them in stock for $169 USD. |

Surefire teach the FBI and FBI modified technique. It's pretty special.. I personnally don't like it for most of CQB work, but it sure have it's use.
Battery leaks? Well, that should not be a problem with surefire 123A cells, it never happenned in my Surefires. Tailcap problem, that's a turn off. (hehe yeah...) I'll do a little research. Quote:
That's a fucking rape. I'm sure we can find a better price.

Having not imported things over the border, I don't know what the tariff, customs etc. would be, but it seems to me that 169US = 187.50ish, and the difference from 319 and 187 is pretty substanstial, no matter how little NAFTA helps us little guys.

Yeah, that price would be good. I have a contact that have 2 houses in the US and offered me to bring stuff (legal) on his 500$ no charge limit when he come back.
If we can have a deal, I could contact him to bring back the goods. He goes over the boarder every week for buisness.

No seriously, I currently work for the child wellfare, I don't know how to call it. Let just say, I work in a "prison" for youth. Im responsible of a unit where we keep the criminals. I'm on the intervention team sometime. When things get rough, we go in and take them out with force. I did more hardcore jobs in the past, but this one is close to what I'm studying in, criminology. I said I need the light because when I do the night shift, it's lights out everywhere except in the offices and corridors... When thing get rough, we don't have time to open the nights in the cells or corridors leading to cells, so I use my surefire to make an aproach. If I could make the angry kid (sometime they are bigger and stronger than me...) dissoriented with the strobe, it would be easyer for me, or us, to grab him and reduse the risks of injuries. I could also use the dimmed lights to inspects the cells. With my surefire, I have to use my hand to refract the light in as to not blind and start an argument, wich is very easy to start with them. I just hate the mini maglights they give us. And over all, I'm a gear whore when it come to fancy, high tech gadjets.
