AEG Trigger MAKING LOUD CLICK!!!

okay one of my m16's stripped a piston the other day, now no big deal opened it up replaced the piston no problem however once I got it back together the trigger in semi automatic makes a very loud Click almost sounding like something is breaking or not lined up properly. it only does this in semi, not in auto, auto the trigger is a smooth pull and makes no noise during the pull.

It only makes the loud click during semi (on every pull of the trigger), I think it could be the cut off lever as it seems to be the only thing that makes sense to me.

Any information you guys can throw my way would be great.

The click depends on the position of the cut-off lever relative to the trigger trolley.
Are you observing the click with the mechbox opened/un-cycled? Try setting the sector gear forward or back and/or cycling the gun.

Thanks for the Info, The click happens when the gearbox is fully closed up, When open it doesn't seem to be present from what I have seen. I'll give that a shot tonight and see if that solves my problem.

sounds like you're just resting on the cutoff lever position and it's releasing the trolley

turn the sector gear so it's not resting on the cutoff lever

Its a combination of your safety, selector plate, and cut off lever not meshing properly. Are these stock parts or a mix of different brands in the gearbox?

It might be the wires interfering with the plastic bar (forgot the proper name) that stops the trigger on safe. Just make sure nothing is on its way before assembled.

That would be the mechanical safety lever.

Also, make sure it's the right way! The "arm" should be above the center line of the screw, not under.

Is that click happening when you let off the trigger in semi after the shot is fired or is it happening as the shot is going off?
