KWC Tanfoglio CZ-75 CO2 trigger not resetting
Hi all, first post, so forgive me if I step on any toes. I had recently purchased a KWC tanfoglio CZ-75 to keep my G5 company. Anyway, I was a bit frustrated, but at the same time excited, to find that the trigger simply would not reset; frustrated because that sucks, but excited because I am a proud "kitchen gunsmith". Before I found and solved the problem I noted a couple things about my gun in particular.
1) The stock recoil spring was inssuficiently stiff. This results in sluggish blowback and exacerbates problem 2). (Attempted fix either by the retailer or the manufacturer consisted of adding a 1cm bit of nearly incompressible spring and a washer to the recoil spring guide rod) Note: In in the picture showing the recoil spring assmbly, for good measure, I wound a length of baling wire around the guide rod, beside the the stiff spring originally there.
2) The mainspring for the gun's hammer is WAY too stiff. The problem with a stiff mainspring on a GBBP is that when the slide recoils to chamber another BB or even when you try and power stroke the slide, the force of friction between the hammer and the bottom surface of the bolt is too great leading to a stoppage. (A job for another day)
Anyway, after some cat and mouse with the problems above I figured out THE SOLUTION:
I resolved the problem by removing the trigger group and removing a couple millimetres of material at the end of the rod that transfers the trigger motion to the firing unit. (I point at that rod in the picture below)
Hopefully that gets the job done.
Don't miss!
