WE SCAR L rate of fire problems

Hello everyone. I am having some problems with my brand new Scar l rifle. I am new to airsoft and am at a loss of what to do. I have written an email (which I will copy here) to the online store I bought the rifle from but was wondering if anyone on here might be able to help me.

To whom it may concern,

I recently purchased an Airsoft rifle from your online store as per the receipt above. I was excited to make this purchase but since receiving the rifle, my enthusiasm has been decreasing steadily.

As soon as I took the rifle out of the box it was shipped in, I noticed that the front sight was missing the pin which held it in position as per this picture (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-j...420_205843.jpg). This was not a deal breaker for me as I never really intended to use the front sight but it was still a little annoying being that it was brand new.

The second problem I noticed right away was when I tried to load my magazine for the first time. This is the quick loader that was sent with my purchase straight out of the box (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-L...418_112727.jpg which looks to be a loader for a g36 rifle). The book that came with my rifle shows a quick loader that is at a 45 degree to the mag. I end up having to hand load every BB...

Now for the major problem I am having with the rifle. I hand loaded all the BB's into the mag. The first mag was ok, but I kind of noticed that the rate of fire was not quite as consistent as I was expecting (This is what I was expecting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6fwg9ZVzNw). I would immediately hand load another mag and then fire right away using the same mag, the rifle would start to lag considerably after only firing about half the mag. I would then fill the same mag once more with just green gas and fire the rifle again. After only 4 or 5 shots (which had excessive green gas condensate from the muzzle as well as the ejection port) the rifle would end up expelling the rest of the gas in the mag in one large gush. I have linked two videos of me firing the rifle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1YKyaz_HXI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKd1jxwR5sc

Both those videos exhibit what the rifle does at its best after only firing one mag previously.

I have taken a week to reach out to you because I have friends who have been into airsoft for some time and wanted to see if we could resolve the issues with the rifle without having to return it. I thought after my initial test try on my own that maybe the magazine was defective or I was using a bad can of green gas (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-c...418_114849.jpg). At the time of purchase from your store, I had also placed another order elsewhere for two more magazines, another green gas mag as well as a CO2 magazine. All magazines are the WE Tech magazines for the Scar L. I get the exact same results using my green gas, CO2, or a friends can of Green gas.

Our only guess was that the o-ring for the nozzle in the bolt carry might have been defective and was leaking gas. I made sure the nozzle was moving freely and was lubed accordingly which did not solve the problem. I also made sure to lube the entire gun before I put any rounds through it.

After firing only three mags through the rifle, the top of the mag and the bolt carry are covered in frost from the quick release of the gas from the magazine.

I am a little concerned after reading your return/warranty policies. After buying the rifle and then ordering internal upgrades that I am waiting on, I am worried that I have a $900 paper weight. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am using King Arms Green Gas, all WE Tech Scar L magazines (at least they are all the same as the one the rifle was shipped with so i hope they are the right ones), and Elite Force 0.25g Premium BB's

Thanks for your time,

The loader is fine.

The full auto mag dump cool down is normal too.

This happens with all gbbrs, buy more mags problem solved. Or wait a bit between mags for the mag to warm back up. Also the factory speed loader is ok for now, but highly recommend you grab a pistol speed loader and make sure it comes with the adaptor.

So basically...you got a gas gun and have no idea how to use it and consider it broken.

K.

Your only legitimate point is the missing springy pin for the front sight.

The loader that comes with the we guns suck. You need to go buy a higher capacity loader with a special lip to load. Mine holds 200 rounds from king arms and loads my mags in a few seconds.

Rate of fire on the scar is slow. You can dump one mag, but then you need to change to another magazine. You cant keep full auto mag dumping from one mag an expect anything, from any propane powered gun.

Firing full auto in general with gas guns is a bad idea. This is why gas guns are for more advanced players. You need to pick and choose your shots. Not full auto dump and burst fire. You need to slap on the semi only and play many games to get used to your new weapon before you budge that fire selector to full auto....and only then to maybe burst fire at a target that you are lobing shots at thats far away. Regardles most feilds dont even allow full auto.

Be prepared for needing around 10 magazines to fill your standard 300 round loadout.

Also smack yourself for using pre mixed gas (and a tan scar, 'murica scum). Go to Candian Tire and get one of those small green propane cans and a AI propane kit, instead of spending 20 bucks a pop for a few mag fills.

This another video exhibiting your cooldown problem, it is normal. shoot semi auto and be glad you didn't get a VFC mp5.

Oh and get yourself a propane adapter and 100% silicone oil

WE has some bad cool down.

GHK mags suffer the least cool-down from experience, all mags will have cool down if you run full auto.

Contact the retailer about the front post and get a replacement.

Airsoft Innovation make propane adapters, make sure you clean and lube your GBB regularly.

The front sight pin is a legitimate concern. Everything else sounds normal. WE guns are notorious for cool down problems. They're okay in semi. The video you linked is of a modified rifle that was also short stroked, which is why the rate of fire is a lot higher.

OP has not replied, I'm wondering if he ever found resolution with his issue - cause without any further details, we're just speculating.

WE GBBRs need a break-in before they are reliable.

Both the mag lips and the gun internals need to wear-in and settle.
That's about 2000 rounds.

Keep eveything lubed and make sure that the oring at the rear of the piston is ALWAYS jucy. 30-40wt silicon oil is the best as it's less runny.

Keep shooting, and you need at least 5 mags to field it.

Yeah i was gonna say, sounds like your average we gbbr.
my 416 is the same. It will run beter on full auto when its 25-30° outside but right now at 10-20degrees itll cool down/slow down at about the 4th or 5th round on auto and by mid way semi would he faster lol.
as for the loading i load without an adapert. The mag upright, the loader at 90° and a finger over the feed lips to guide the bbs in. Just as fast as any other mag/loader combo and no need for adapers or seperate loaders. And i would venture a guess the gun is dry.
use some heavy silicone oil (grenade oil or RC shock oil) on the oring in the nozzel and use some super lube or frog lube on all the friction points (they will be easy to find after runnin a few mags in the gun) just a thin layer.
