KWA "trigger" body pin

I'm trying to get a KWA m16 apart and for the life of me I cannot get the small body pin that's above the trigger guard to come out. Any suggestions?

Yes I'm pushing it the right way, yes I've tried hitting it harder, yes I'm using an actual pin punch and not an allan key.

Loosen the stock screw...loose the grip (PITA since you have to take the motor out but it's not a big deal really)...try again.

IIRC the KWA pins are not flared but rather one end is knurled. Once the tension of the stock/grip is off, double check that you're not trying to drive the knurled end through.

And we're talking about the flora pin just above the trigger and not one of the fake/cosmetic body pins...right?

Spike knows his way around an AEG. He has a real problem here. Hit it too hard and it breaks the body or something.

Everything is disassembled, the pin is the last thing keeping the gearbox in the receiver.

And yes, I'm worried about hitting it too hard and cracking the receiver... I know it can happen lol

Yes, the flora pin. I'm pushing on it so the ridged side comes out first.

When I have a pin that won't budge I put all the other pins and screws back in and try knocking it out then.

Right now it's under tension. When all the others are in the load is spread across more of the gearbox.

I figured so...I've seen his previous posts/etc but always start simple...

It's either under tension or it's bent. Pretty much anything you do is going to put pressure on the side of the body as you said.

Definitely use a block with a hole on it on the exit side to even out the pressure on the side of the body as much as possible.

Does it move at all? or is it mostly moving but then gets stuck (i.e. it might have a bend in it)?

You could make up a jig and press the pin out with vice or one of those cabinet making long bar clamps (I forget what they're called...but some of mine have pretty good throat depths). It's a PITA to juggle it but it'll exert even pressure that way. I have an arbor press and some aluminim pin/hole jigs that I use for this type of stuff...but have never used it on a body to get a flora pin out.

If you can get some of it out...you can grind off the knurled part and try driving it back the "wrong" way.

If all else fails spray a small shot of penetrating lube in there and give it a couple hours to creep. Then try again. Seafoam Deep Creep or similiar lube works very well in these situations.

Completely reassembled the lower.... still nothing. It won't budge at all.

The owner of the gun said that he thinks the screw for one of the main body pins fell inside the mechbox. There's definitely something in there, the trigger locks, sometimes in safe, sometimes off safe, that's what I'm trying to fix. Maybe it did get bent after all.

I'll pick up some of that seafoam stuff and see if that helps...

Success... shot some seafoam in there and let it sit for about 5 hours... then it came out with some aggressive hammering. Thanks, all!

So was the knurl just really tight in the receiver, or was the pin binding somewhere?

Looks like the pin was just tight... wedged in there with lots of crap. I don't think this gearbox was ever opened, there was a lot of dirt and other foreign stuff in there.

The creeping lube sure does creep though, friggin got everywhere
