KJW P229 Nozzle Concern

I just got a KJW P229 and when I pull back the slide slowly, the nozzle doesn't seem to 'unlatch' or pull back from the inner barrel/hop up area until I almost pull it all the way back. It almost seems like it's sticking or something. I don't recall any of my previous pistols doing this.

My gun fires and feeds fine, the nozzle never sticks forward during normal operation. It's only when I begin to manually pull back the slide (slowly) that it appears to stick for a moment before I pull the slide all the way back.

I'm just wondering if this is a problem or not? If it is, what can I do to fix it?

Pulled all the way back, the nozzle detaches and is fine at this point.

The thing is, the nozzle does eventually retract. I can take off the slide and the barrel and spring and pull the nozzle by itself and it will work just fine. I'm just not sure if it 'sticking' to the barrel when in normal operation is normal.

It's still possible, sometimes the spring gets bent, sometimes there are 2 springs and 1 is useless..

Alright, when I get the time I'll check it out.

Also, there's a little 'stick' with a notch on it below the nozzle itself. It seems to latch onto a 'dip in the barrel mechanism, I'm wondering if that's part of what's stopping it from retracting quicker/fully?

Ah, I just saw that. I have to note, however, that my gun shoots and feeds fine, the nozzle doesn't seem to permanently stick forward like yours does.

Neither does mine, Just takes a few pulls of the slide to get it back

Weird, this seems like a more serious problem than mine -- maybe it might be your nozzle springs like the previous guy said?

My KJW P226 does the same thing but also fires and feeds fine. Only happens when i manually pull the slide back.

Try some silicone oil around the tip of the nozzle. Just a touch. Should fix it. If not it's probably your nozzle return spring.

Good to know, seems like we're in the same boat -- that is to say, this may not be an issue.

Even if adding the silicone oil doesn't work, since the gun fires and feeds fine, should I still be worried about the spring?

MY 229 does the same, with respect to the initial retraction. always has been this way and I've not had problems

Alright, good to know. Why didn't you say this before? Haha.

Have that gun, they do that. Most gbb do. Just lube it a bit. Return springs do not break or come un-latched in these guns. If the nozzle does not return the nozzle is broken. The return is dependent on a piece that protrudes from the nozzle on the side that catches the spring.
