Little metal circle
What does that little metal circle on the motor do? It's not attached by anything, and it's more like a sticker. Say I lost it. Is it a big deal?

It keeps the grub screw from contacting the motor shaft.
You MUST have this, if you want to: 1) Maintain correct motor height 2) Prevent burning out your motor 3) Prevent burning out your fuse 4) Prevent very loud motor noise 5) Prevent burning out your battery 6) Prevent melting your wires !!! So in short..... yes, it's a big deal. |

Aw crap. It dropped out of the grip when I was trying to get the butt plate back on.

Found it. So it goes on top, right before the plate?

The grub screw attached to the bottom of the plate, though?

Yep. There's no other grub screw located anywhere else in that entire vicinity, so..... yeah. LOL

Does it matter which side goes up? I note one side is basically imprinted from the screw, so I just went with the way it was.

it's a disc. it doesn't matter. the imprint was caused by use.

Sweet tapping dancing Elvis Jesus, that thing is hard to close with the disc aligned. But I finally got it. Any reason why they don't just glue it to the grub screw?

I stick mine on with a bit of grease, then it is in place while stuff gets buttoned up around it.

Wow. That's actually pretty awesome. Any reason why I shouldn't just superglue the plate to the grub screw end, though?

Super glue it to the bottom of your motor, is much easier that trying to glue a pie plate to the head of a pin.

Don't glue it. If you ever need to use that motor for another gun, you'll fuck up the bell housing taking it off. If you can't spend 30 second positioning it, switch to a different grip motor plate (I'm assuming you're using an M4/M16). King Arms makes one that doesn't require the disk, but instead uses a huge screw. You should never let glue go near an airsoft gun unless it's for plastic repair. You get glue onto the wrong place and you'll toast that motor (plus, the motor will heat up and the glue will fail).
