G&g m4 max weird problem
Hey, one of the guys i play with has a G&G M4 MAX and its got a really weird problem i cant figure out how to fix :P
The gun randomly stops working. Like its working great and then suddenly it just stops shooting like its got no battery. and then it works again. then stops. then start again. then stop. (you prolly get it by now :P) All he did was take the receivers apart. (Only the front pin was removed and upper pulled away. He didnt disassemble the whole thing) We've tried swapping battery the 1st time it happened but that doesnt seem the problem as the gun starts working great 5mins after it fails. I've looked at the wires going from the outside of the gearbox (which was never opened) to the front handguard. They seems to be fine. The connectors also look good. The motor plate wasnt taken off (so that can't be a broken motor connector) Yea so anyways, I was thinking of putting new connectors in the front (in the handguard) but i dont know if that would fix it. And he also said that the gun was great before he separating the receivers... Does anyone have a suggestion what could be the problem? |

Are both the connecters attached to the motor properly?

I would guess they are since the motor plate wasnt removed.

It's happened to me, and happens all the time to my friends g&g. Even before he took off the plate to fix it... Wouldn't hurt to Check because that's the first thing that should spring to mind, and the easiest. If it's not that scratch it off the list and then take your gearbox out for a better look at the wiring and selector plate. Go from there.

How long has he had the gun (how many BB's have gone through it)?
I take it that it still has the max spring in it and not the replacement as you said he has never opened it. Does the pistol grip get hot? I have seen some motors act like this when they are on the way out and will work for small periods of time then just stop and over heat. Check the motor connectors and then maybe try a different motor if you have one laying around. Keep in mind those MAX series guns come with a hard spring (I have seen chrono results from a few guns from 460fps - 507fps), the stock internals and motors aren't made to pull those springs but more to just shoot and get it across Customs. So while you are at it you might want to downgrade the spring (that and you will prob be to hot for most fields anyway)

Hes had the since december now. Probably around like 10k bbs have gone through it.i dont know the Pistol grip gets hot since im not the one playing it but ill check that out :P
Whats weird is that the gun can shoot without failing for a whole day...and the next day it takes about 2mins (like 50-60rds and then it fails..lol) |

Could be he accidently pinched or pulled some wires. Sounds like ust a bad connection. He should consult a diagram to see the wire routing and inspect the wires.
