Order stuck in customs
I have recently bought a m4 front end from the classifieds of a forum in the states. It came with the upper, outer barrel, RIS, sights. The thing is that it has been in customs for a while now (5 days) and I am wondering if it has been seized. Technically, aren't all these parts legal to import?
Are they still legal if it was all assembled? |

There should be no legal issues as far as I know.
Its only been 5 days, customs agents are responsible for screen many many many packages on a daily basis. Give it a little while longer.

I believe since you are importing the receiver it will be seized, but that might be based on CBSA not looking at ir correctly, and legality should be the same assembled or not

all legal, customs can hold it for weeks or even months before they eventually let it through, if its seized you'll get a letter in the mail.

Well he did say upper so he is bringing in a piece of the reciever but on M4's it's the lower reciever that is restricted.
5 days is not a long time for customs, just be patient and it should arrive if not you get "the letter" but you can contest it.

Good rule of thumb: If it has the serial number on it on the real fire arm, that's the restricted part. |

Don't worry, I have a package stuffed with gear, so basically items of clothing, nothing even remotely suspicious, and it's been stuck for over 12 days in Vancouver...It will go through eventually.

No worries. I've had things stuck in customs for two weeks. As several people have already pointed out, the parts you listed aren't restricted, so there's no reason for customs to do anything to them. They're just being slow, as they usually are.

Thanks for clearing this up, I thought I was in trouble because a non airsoft related part I ordered from the states only stayed in the customs for like 2 days.

I`ve had colt 1911 mags stuck in customs for a month. I thought it was seized for sure, then one day it just came.

one question im raising here, would there be an issue if you drove into the states and brought back non restricted items.
would you need to declare them? if you didnt and they were found, what could be the consequences? -Raven |
