ICS M4 - Where to find Stock Replacement
Hey,
I've recently broke my ICS M4 stock and was looking to pick up a replacement for it. Preferably a folding stock option would be awesome. I was able to do a decent job at putting it back together, but since I kinda busted it in a game I thought maybe it would be easier to just get a folding stock and make it a better CQB rifle. Now I was looking up folding stocks but only found models (like D Boys) that would fit other M4 AEG's because it seems that ICS made their stock almost proprietary to their M4 line. Anyone know where I can pick up just the stock or possibly find one that can be modified to fit the ICS M4 models? Blue

You'll have a hard time making something work with the ICS because of the split gearbox.
Did you have a full stock that broke? |

To get back to both of you.. the DBoys one won't fit on my ICS
The full stock broke (the one with a proprietary battery adapter). And yes it's a two peice gear box =(

I haven't tried, but from the pictures (better on eHobby) you can see clearly that it will not fit on the ICS model at all.
The ICS lower receiver has two holes in it (female ends) and the butt stock goes into the two holes (male ends). I know ICS has foldable stocks in their m4/m16 lines which lead me to believe there must be a place where you can just simply buy different attachments for the gun.... sadly... I was mistaken. It is starting to feel like a needle in the haystack.

You'll need an ICS stock. Try and get ahold of Mach1, www.mach1airsoft.com. They are the ICS distributor for Canada. If you can't get ahold of them, ask me, and I'll get it for you.

meh.
You can install that stock on an ICS Rifle. The split mechbox has nothing to with with it. If you remove the screw inside the buffer tube of the ICS stock, you can remove the part that goes on the back of the receiver. The only reason why it will be harder to fit is that you have to modify that part with a dremell tool, a file or sanding paper. The rear part is made tapeded in two directions. First you will have to sand/grind in width the two prongs on the stock adapter. Then you also will have to remove some material on both top and bottom faces of the same two prongs. It's not hard to do but you have to understand. Worst case, you won't be able to fit the stock tube all the way against the receiver, but it will work. You HAVE to use the ICS stock screw (unless you have a full stock. The special battery connector one is a CRANE stock) because it shorter and screws into the part you have to modify instead of the mechbox. Take everything from the rear of the receiver appart and you should understand. |

Hey thanks a lot.
I'm going to do a tear down after a game on Sunday coming up. Going to take a look at what kind of connector is required. I'll post up if it is possible or not. If it is.... that just saved me $80 =D (avg. price = $100 for ICS folding stock)

It is possible. I installed a Magpull CRT stock on my friend's ICS.
And I installed a CA crane on mine. The original battery connector is a mini tamiya. You should change it to a Dean's Ultra. It is smaller and better. |
