gear axle lengths

i got an 8mm modify v2 gearbox and put in 8mm modify solid bushings. I put in my stock JG sector gear and in order to not have it wobble when the gearbox is closed i had to put 1.5mm of shims on both sides?! obviously i'm missing something, do some gear manufacturers have longer axles? the axles barely make it inside the bushings with the gearbox closed.

thanks

Even inside each manufacturers, there will be different tolerances in the parts made, so 2 sector gears of JG might not require the same shimming.

That is normal.

It happens almost all the time when you take "stock" gears from any gun, especially china guns. The original bushings are a lot thicker for no real reason (when they are nylon, it's because they are weaker).

Your gun will work none the less, as long as the gears are aligned to each other.
