G&G lowers - Selector Switch Problems

Well I researched this on this site and with google. Cannot find any appropriate info so I am hoping one of the other gundocs on here may have solved this problem.

I have many lower receivers, 2 are G&G. One is a metal lower and the other is a Cansoft clear lower (painted black). When I put a gearbox in a G&G lower the selector switch seems to work well but the three positions produce - safe, semi, semi , with no full auto.

This happens only with the two G&G lowers. I have Magpul and genuine TM lowers and the same gearboxes will select - safe, semi, auto on those lower receivers.

Can anyone tell me why G&G receivers in particular have this problem? and how to solve it?

The gearbox must sit a bit too far in the back, thus not allowing the selector plate to engage the cut-off lever to the full auto position, I had this on a previous M16 (G&G), and I've shimmed the cut-off lever arm where it contacts the selector plate (other side of the little spring) so the selecto plates engages the auto mode sooner.

I had the same problem with G&G lowers. Shimming is the cure.

it's because of the selector plate vs. fire selector. some don't work well with each other. I had a TM selector that didn't work with CA fire selector. Try changing to a different fire selector or plate.

FOLLOW-UP:

I solved the problem by changing the selector switch assembly. I found in my kit a selector switch that had a tiny bump at the top of the circle. That bump must have been enough to push the selector plate to the full auto position.
