TM M4 won't fire.

Hey there, I just received this gun in a trade last week. The day I got it I threw a battery in and it fired no problem, I put about 300 BB's through it. I took the battery out and haven't fired it since. Today however I had decided to make a home-made suppressor and needed to test it. When I put the battery in and pulled the trigger - nothing happened. I thought "well that battery was on it's last leg anyway" So I grabbed my other 8.4v and tried it. Still nothing. The only thing I had done to the gun between the first time I fired it and today was open up the upper receiver to take a look-see, as I just acquired the gun, and play around with setting up my three-point and aimpoint.

I don't know anything on internals, and the only thing I can think of is that maybe the wires from the gearbox got pulled a bit when I tilted the upper receiver forward. (fore grip battery). But at the same time I feel like I would have felt some extra force required to pull.

I've been reading the FAQ's up and down and haven't seen anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does it buzz, click, whir or anything at all?

Do the batteries work on anything else?

When you opened the upper did you see if the piston was fully forward or is it locked up at the back?

No sound, nothing at all.
I don't own any other guns, but the batteries were both functioning perfect when I used them last week.
I couldn't tell you if the piston was locked back or not, but I don't think that's the issue. More electrical I thought.

If you take out the upper again, do you see the piston thru the window at the back of the GB?

Also, could be one of the wire that just disconnected from your motor.

I can see the a white plastic piece inside of the GB through a small cut-out near the rear. I'm assuming that's the piston. Would I reconnect the wires to the motor by completely removing the gearbox, or could I just go in through the grip?

Take the bottom plate off the pistol grip and check to make sure the motor wires are connected.

If it's front wired, make sure that the wires going from the hand guard to the mechbox are connected. It doesn't take much to pull them out.

Fuse, or your wires on your motor have come off their terminals.

Check the fuse though.

If you see white, that's the piston, indeed.

Like said check fuse, check if you might have pinched some wires outside the GB near the pivot point of the receiver, then check the motor connections.

Alright. I've checked the wires at the pivot to see if they're kinked or spliced. They're fine. I'm going to check the connection on the motor now. Thanks guys, I'll be back with results shortly.

It'll likely happen again, once you put the connector(s) back on the motor, you should have given a slight pinch with a pair of needlenose pliers to make sure they stay on. Loose connections will pop off again with vibration from the gun firing.
