Your first AEG should be a GBBR

If I had to do it over..I'd skip right to a PTW. Then I'd do up a mosfet/ECU V3 AEG (e.g. KA Galil). Then I'd lust after an Inokatsu LMG (240/60/249...they're all good)....lust because I don't want to store it, just use one now and then.
Then I'd switch to a GBBR for any shooting where the temp was over 15deg C and not touch my electric guns. Skip right to the end... |

Am I the only one that laughed out loud at this. Now that's funny.
Thanks Black, I needed a good laugh like that. But Seriously, my first AEG was a SCAR and i think for my size I should have gotten a lighter AEG. Okay for little skirmishes. but a bit of a pain for longer battles out on the field with lots of hills and ravines. Don't concern yourself too much with FPS or ROF and stuff like that. It'll all make sense when you find the right AEG. Oh, and get one that can easily be upgraded. By that I mean, has readily available parts. You GUYS it's the newbie section, don't offer him the wrong ideas :P.
http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=103057 that might help. Personally I disliked the gun (wires and gears awful), getting aved is better solution instead of buying this. |

Honnestly your first aeg should be reliable. AS a noob you want thAt thing running without any issues. My first aeg was and is a G&P, was reliable as hell in this first season (±10k BBs thru it) and did not cost me a dime in repairs exept for changing hop rubber/bucking. Buy something good and do not mod it at all, you'll be good to go.
Oh and get verified plus buy that shit brand new from one of the fine retailers Last edited by MartyK2500; October 11th, 2010 at 22:40.. |

People that I've played with can attest to the quality of my first AEG. Nothings happened to it except that time I ran crappy BB's through it and some bullshit happened where I needed to clean the barrel (it was worse for the PTW since it chopped and there was "confetti" everywhere).
If I could start over I would have gone for Classic Airsoft though. I'm really loving it right now and I totally wish I had the money for a Daytonagun.
