OH man....


The smoke is definitely a short, I had that happen once bcuz the rubber had rubbed off and the 2 wires and were making contact, batter caught on fire in the staging area at area 51, electrotape ftw!!

Even though this happened, will my gun be damaged? Will my motor need to be replaced? WILL MY GUN STILL WORK?

What I did is that I returned the battery to CBP, and i resoldered my wire. I think i know why my battery got fried. The wires were squished inside the crane stock which may have caused them to disconnect. So i resoldered it with fresh 16AWG hobby wire (i couldnt find 18AWG), wrapped it around with duct tape, and added a heatshrink, and i made the hole slightly larger in the butt stock so theres no compression or bending. Im just waiting to get my battery back now.

Woah calm down there capt. Freakout heehehehe, maybe replace the wiring and the connectors if they look burnt out, try a new battery and see how it goes, the gearbox itself will be fine

Your gun probably isn't damaged. Your battery may be, or it might be fine if you caught it before it did too much damage shorting out.

Your motor CAN be damaged too as also your trigger switch.

And dude WTF? Duct tape under a heatshrink?

Why can't you just add a fuse in there for a safe warning?

When you solder wires, use shrink tubes or electrical tape.

Make sure that anything showing copper is covered.

Make sure wires are not cramped up.


If there is too much wires causing cramped up wires, than cut them.

Simple.

If you cannot do all of this above, buy a crane stock set and save yourself the trouble, or gun doc.

Why send the battery back for something you damaged?

Why don't you just buy more batteries?
You'll end up needing at least more than 1 in the future for games.

I did use electrical tape (not duct tape) and then a heat shrink

I dont know how to add a fuse so I rather not put it

All copper is covered and not exposed

I made a small hole in the butt stock so no wires are cramped or kinked

Yes, I can do all the stuff above and I like to learn myself

I only need 1 battery right now since Im not gaming on the field yet.

Thanks Styrak. I used the black electrical tape around my wires not duct tape.
