You are correct no plastic gear box. I though the cas versions had them. I am sure I read it somewhere though. Sorry for the misinformation and thanks kalnaren for setting me straight.

I got a G&G GR16 as my first AEG for $308 + shipping from buyairsoft.ca and I recommend you do the same for your first AEG as well. I have had it for a couple of months now and I play airsoft a couple of times a week and it still shoots hard with no problems at all, but that could also be because I haven't owned the gun for a long enough time to tell. I still am a noob and wouldn't really know exactly what a good quality gun is, but it's lived up to my standards.
Link for the AEG http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/product...roducts_id=438 Also I got a sniper from the same site called the TSD Type 96 (The site calls it the "Ultimate- Bolt Action Sniper Rifle, and the Warrior L96). I like the sniper, but I can't compare it to other snipers since I am still fairly new to airsoft. I would say save up, get a high quality AEG, and if your still interested in getting a sniper, invest in a high quality sniper. The sniper shoots hard, and prices at $320 + shipping. Link for the sniper http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/product...roducts_id=138 If your age verified, look around on this site. Do lots of research and maybe take a look in the gun review section. inexpensive Cansoft
We have many newer players at our field with the new G&G Cansoft rifles. They are great for the price. instead of 200 for a cheap one save a biy more and at least go this way. I was hit by the G&G m-16 today from around 125ft min. I really didnt think he had range but then, ding off the hat. I have had no major issues with these guns at all and they are very reliable for a new player. The last great bonus is for a noob, these AEGs come with a good Battery and charger. helps alot having good batterys so you get a full day of playing.

Don't worry Darkstar, I'm smart enough to realize you were just trying to save space. Congrats (thats congratulations for others) on your purchases and I hope you enjoy them. If you like the Sniper then be happy. I bought a different one from them and I like it quite a bit.

From now on I'm going to start bitching at people for saying "don't" instead of "do not"...and "tomato" instead of "tomato" because I think I can hear them mispronouncing it through their keyboard. /sarcasm
As bpbcc1 says, it's just to save space. |

Just don’t (do not) mention tomatoes are fruit and not vegetable. I can only begin to imagine the flaming followed by heads exploding. Imagine knowing everything already and then stuffing in that last little morsel of knowledge like poor Mr. Creosote. Boom!!!. Those of you barely age verifiable, might have to ask Dad about that one.
