If they're ANSI Z87.1 rated then they'll stop anything an airsoft gun can put out. Regardless, if you're going to be playing on any paintball fields then they usually require paintball approved goggles for insurance purposes. If you're not playing on paintball fields or they don't require paintball goggles then you would be very well off in getting tatical goggles, ESS or something similar, which are designed to make a good effort at deflecting small-arms fire, and thus will definitely do for airsoft.

Eh, if you went up to about $150 you could probably find a Cyma AEP. Not great, but hellofa lot better then a springer.

green gas is a low type of pressure gas wich equals less fps.
propane is the cheapest and most reliable gas one tank is about 4$ and that can run ur seccondary for a year.
c02 is used for higher fps guns and is the most expensive 0.12g canisters

the only gun that wastes c02 is the TF-11 shooting over 1000rnds a minute.

the tauruse like i said can shoot aprox 200+ rounds on one c02 and is fairly consistant.

if you wana spend money on one seccondary get a kwj works gun they run on propane and are very reliable having metal slides and GBB

Green gas = propane, silicone oil and perfume stored in unsafe container and marked up in price about 400%.

co2 is, well, it's co2.

The difference in the two (propane and c02) is that c02 is under higher pressure and is thus more powerful. It's also harder on the gun. And it's somewhat less affected by cold tempratures. It's the more expensive of the two as well. Propane can be used in place of green gas with the addition of a cheap ($24.95) adapter kit, is cheaper then both green gas and co2. Propane is what the bulk of GBB's run on. Gas guns that are made for propane will not run on co2, guns that run on co2 can often run on propane if you get propane mags for them.

edit: I'll second the recommendation for KJW pistols. I have an M9 and a 1911 and I love them dearly. KJW guns have a rep for having finicky mags but I haven't had any trouble with any of the mags I have.

I just got into the sport as well... my biggest thing I found when buying the gun is go hold a few. See what you like in your hand, what is the easiest to snap shoot with, what kind of sites do you find the most usefull. I let my GF hold my AK before we bought her p90, she could not even reach the front stock on my ak lol had to put her hand by the mag. So yah old a few first.

I got a TM AK47 and I love it save a few things. I picked it up for around $400 with battery and Fuzzy logic charger, came with a low cap and high cap mag. Only had about 1500 rounds through it. So the deals are out there, don't rush the purchase and you can find a smoking deal.

I am personaly cautiouse of upgraded second hand stuff. Its like buying a Car that has been turboed, you do not know if the owner has built the engine up properly, and even if he has how many miles are REALLY on the parts. Get someone to look it over for you before you purchase it or you might end up with a headach like my gun doctor thread was... in the end it was just me worrying but still... could turned out to be much worse.

The mk1 is a rifle/pistol/sniper thing. I wouldn't get that with out alot of previous experence with airsoft in general and other guns in specific. When we refer to KJW guns, we mean M9's or 1911's or something similar, a proper pistol.
